I used to steal when I was a child, I’ll admit it because I don’t do it anymore. I changed my ways, thank God. I met hard working people, and I saw the reward first hand for hard work and it changed my life. Preach it! I work at a Walgreen's about 3 hours south of Chicago. Hence the local name 'Little Chicago'. I get so infuriated with these kids coming in, like CLOCKWORK nearly every day. I even found out that one group of miscreants, was given a list of things to steal by their MOTHER! We were able to get that group banned, but there are more to take their place. This granny is ready to kick some backsides! Yes, the company has insurance, but then the cost of the insurance is added to the cost of the merchandise, and then the customers who actually pay for their things, including workers, are the ones that pay the price! Nothing new in Chicago. I the early 90's I stayed at the McCormick Place Hotel at the lake front for a manufacturers show and walked into the old part of the south side to find a store and found a local neighborhood grocery store that to shop their a person walked into a breezeway that had a turntable with a bullet proof glass structure on the same idea as a bank drive up window. You either told the clerk what you wanted or gave him a note passed through the turn table. He would ring up your order and you put the money on the turn table then he would gather up your order and give it to you via the turn table. This was all because of Chicago south side crime in the early 90's.

I live in the central valley, CA and in a relatively high crime area. The majority of stores - Walgreens, CVS, grocery stores, etc. - have items locked up. The HUGE problem I find with frequenting these stores is there's no one working to assist in shopping for these items. You press a button by your locked up items, which page assistance to these items and you sit and wait for close to 30 minutes for an employee to unlock these items for you. I just shop online or at Costco.

I'm also a victim of these evil bad actors. They don't care if you have cameras, security system connected to the police, high security locksmith hardware. Unfortunately, my neighbors have been the perpetrators. It took me a while to figure out from whom where the home intrusions were coming from. My town's PD did nothing to those criminals.
