gemified structures just multiply your output (i think it's by 5), so instead of getting 1 cooked fish from raw fish, you get 5 cooked fish from 1 raw fish, the only downside to it is that it doesn't work with modded recipes and items don't auto collect when you're far enough (yes that's how you got all that iron on the ground)
