I've probably mentioned this before, but there's a place called Alpine Meadow in Berkhamsted, which is one of my favourite walks. If you park near Bridgewater School, there's a footpath which takes you through nearby adjacent fields, and you can reach the meadow from there. I go during the warmer months as you can see the native lizard species bathing in the sun.

I've mapped a longer walk (16 miles) that starts and ends in Berko and includes Apline Meadow, Ashridge House, Ivinghoe Beacon, Pitstone Hill and Aldbury. Bring on the sunshine as I'm looking forward to this walk once it's a bit warmer.
