When I was a kid, 60’s & 70’s, the Army-Navy surplus stores had everything! All of the US GI stuff made for WWII had millions of uses, it was cheap as hell, and they made it to last forever. If you needed a tool or some carrying pouch, boots or indestructible clothes for Boy Scouts, Sears or the hardware store was the last place we went. The Army-Navy stores were always our first stop. I pray this current war doesn’t turn into another death and surplus generating world war.

The LAW80/94 being displayed with the 80s kit is fairly anachronistic. GPMG and L4s were taken away from infantry rifle companies before the LAW94 entered infantry service. Gustavs were the rifle company level AT weapons in the 80s. The AT platoons moved over to MILAN. SF platoons got all the GPMG.

Yeah, there are definitely some overlaos/discrepancies. There was no one on hand to ask about their rationale to be honest. Just an interesting array of kit.

Often with these types of display they will not focus on a single cap badge or year but rather put on a more generic display from across the period.

@Uther Petersen I beg your pardon?
@zoiders2 жыл бұрын
@Uther Petersen No you didn't. But thanks for revisiting us with yet another of your Walter Mitty fake profiles. I suppose its a small mercy you aren't claiming to be a Royal Marine yet again.

They're normally close to if not actually the same dates every year, Last year I beleive It was the weekend of the 18th of September so I'm assuming it'll be close to that date again in 2022 (if i had to guess 17th-18th this year) but Lucy (owner/Museum manager) hasn't confirmed a date yet but I imagine it'll be close to that weekend. she'll probably annouce it at some point in the next month or so on the public facebook page.

Don't you need to ask permission to record places like this or these displays?

Yugoslavia was not a small army. Third largest in Europe. You need to read up!

Did I say it was a small army? I thought I said it was a small display. Either way, I can always read more about Cold War armies. Thanks for watching.

Tke"Cold War" is NOT over. When the West started to aid Ukraine at the outbreadk of the current war, Putin said "World War III has begun". In the '90's there was a move on both sides to join Russia to NATO that was quahsed by some US interests fro some strange reason that I do not understand
@jerrymiller90392 жыл бұрын
Russia was not welcome due to corruption, lack of democracy, lack of compatability not to mention the whole history of threatening and invading all the other members thing

Russia are suing everything they have except nuclear to try to hold on 20% of Ukraine that they were able to take. at the time of writing, aprox 30k KIA, 40-50k WIA and a breath taking amount of hardware lost. Russia are in no condition to wage war with anyone let alone NATO.
