This video makes me want to live in or near Lerwick. Were I a few decades younger, I would definitely look into it. If only I knew then what I know now...

Wet, cold and a bit grim; so it's not for me. It obviously has its magic and charm though, I can see why it might suit some people. The feeling of being more integrated in a community would beat living in a big city any day. Islands have something about them, a sense of separation from the rest of the world perhaps. It's lovely to see some of these out of the way places, even if I'd probably never go there. I'm not sure what you could do there to earn a living, unless you have a specific job on the island or can live off income online.

‘Wet, cold and a bit grim’ Ha ha this made me laugh. 😆 I do hope and assume the weather will improve soon. It’s seems to be calmer in the last few days. This place is not for everyone but certainly very special and I think the next few videos will capture that more. There is actually plenty of employment here in a number of sectors and to my surprise there are people here from all over the world. I’m not quite the only foreigner on the island as I anticipated. In fact most people consider Irish people as very similar and honestly I have to agree.

Maybe you'd consider pronouncing Lerwick as it is used on Shetland.
