I just want everyone to know that the Jahre G80 edition exactly specified like Matt's is 150K up here in Canada. There's one sitting at a Dealer close by in Lime Rock Grey. The real question is, who is dropping 150K on an M3? I can think of many other (better?) cars to spend that amount of clams on.

And don't forget the 20% Luxury tax on the price > 100k. By the way, that car you mention has additional markup. The MSRP is not 150k for these cars in Canada even with M Drivers package ++++. Still though I hear you on the max optioned out for this car. I ended up getting this car for MSRP 122k + tax (including PDI/Freight) without the Carbon seats / Ceramic brakes / M Drivers package / External Carbon package. The only saving grace if there is one, is this is 1/500 for NA and 1/72 in Canada.

Those brake duct grills are standard on all G8X without exterior carbon pack, if you opt for exterior carbon you get those sleeker looking brake ducts there with sort of two inlets. The Carbon ones make the front look a lot better IMO, especially in combination with the Vorsteiner kidneys. Excited for videos with this car, I think it will look awesome!

Just got my M3 Comp Tanzanite a few weeks ago. I love it. It reminds me of the E39 M5. I think the front nose works with the car. I like it.

@@highflysugar yup, same here, X-drive also. We got the Kyalami interior but not the extended leather, which looks amazing. When the dealer sent me pictures of the car, the tanzanite looked like a dark blue but when we went to go pick it up, and the paint hit the sunlight, it literally turned another color…a sapphire color. It’s looks amazing.

Matt there’s a handle you can buy ranges right around $10-$20 bucks and it slides into the door latch and you could use that to help lift you up and put

Coming out of a F90 M5 Comp which I had before my 50 Jahre M3, the M3 is much smaller. I feel like I can see around the car easier when I park. The M5 was massive in comparison.

Hi Matt, Mosselman Turbo Systems from the Netherlands has recently cracked the S58 ecu. I do believe they also have a turbo manufactored for it, with an oilcooler aswell. Kies motorsports is a Mosselman dealer i believe.

Those modern dashes with just having giant tablets all across them, instead of proper instruments (analog or even digital for all i care) that are covered by a nicely contoured dash, are just so hideous and even plain out obtrusive more often than not. It straight up pains me to see what cars are/have becoming. I mean the size of this thing has nothing to do with the original M3 formula anymore (nimble 3 series car with an M division powerplant) . It's literally like matt said : this is more like an M5 if anything. Thing's a freaking boat man...

Matt, I will say since I've had enough seat time in my G80 2021, i realized BMW designed the vehicle for more of a mature buyer. After spending time in my friends F80 with the DCT, that car is violent and just wants to kill you. I get what your saying about the previous gen M3 they are more engaging, but i've found that when i'm in full sport, I can have that F80 experience.

Matt, I would go a different route for springs. AST is a great brand but I had the AST spring on my g80 and regretted it almost immediately. Really softened the ride and made the suspension feel cheap. I would constantly hit bump stops on curvy bumpy mountain roads. I went back to OEM springs after 4k miles on that suspension. Still cheap enough to test for yourself and they may have updated the springs since I purchased mine.

13:54 cars equipped with the M drive Pro option let you have a 10 stage M traction Control even in RWD once you turn DSC all the way off.

Very good choice of color Matt 🍇 certainly it will looking stunning in the sunlight of Florida and Georgia. But only fault I have besides the dreadful pigs nose is the black interior. It will be attractive the sun and therefore heat with having low tint windows. I would have gotten the interior in Smoke White extended leather or at the least Silverstone. It would have made the color pop a lot more outside. Besides everyone has Black. I live in florida and have a Black/ Black Mercedes and it’s horrible to live with most of the year.

I think you’re going to hate it. The M5 is so fat and numb. Sure it’s balistically fast, but after your .2, it’s going to been like a barge. The rub is….the M3 is just better and gives up almost zero interior space or practicality. I had a 991.1 that I sold for a 997.2 turbo and I really like the way the G80 feels. Shame about the looks.

@@joetacchino4470 the looks aren’t a big deal you can get a good bumper with a smaller grill and good air flow dynamics so I don’t get it . i still own an e46 m3 I can’t afford all these new and shiny cars less is more sometimes but given the chance I’d own a g80 , I owned an f80 m3 stage one it was abit erratic the g80 is abit smoother but I hate digital dashes .

I do miss the M3ness of this car, but I love the M5ness of it too. I wanted, so so badly, to buy an F80, but it seemed so unresolved, although beautiful. This car is the opposite. Challenging looks, but man did they nail the functionality. I gave up on the F80 after literally test driving them for 2 years and bought a 991.1. That was too wooden for me so I dropped to a 997.2 TurboS however the kids are too big now. I can’t daily the car with all the demands I have with kids, work, etc. The G80 is the perfect solution….at the price of some very challenging looks. I wish Porsche made something smaller than the Panamera, but they don’t.

Well said. I tried very hard to like the F82 M4, but left each of the four test drives feeling like the car was too frantic/snappy in a bad way. Recently I had the pleasure of test driving a G82 with a manual and left that test drive thoroughly impressed - partly because of its M5ness. It is a plush, fast, very pleasurable car to drive with three pedals on the floor. Like a powerful set of beer goggles, after the test drive my disdain for the G82s styling diminished a good bit.

Having some experience with renting out cars myself, if you rent this out for $1,000 extra per week, people are going to use it as their primary car and do all kinds of things with it you wouldn’t want. 5 passengers, fire roads, smoking, rubbing the bolsters, dropping Cheetos on the floor and using the steering wheel with their cheesy fingers, etc. It’s going to happen, but if you rotate the cars every year it won’t be unsalvageable damage. If you want to offer a sports car for mountain roads it should probably be a 911 C4S where it is 2+2 and AWD but the rear seats are penalty boxes.

The m4 looks a little better imo. Plus I think with all the advancements and creature comforts it's a lot closer to the 5 so it makes a little more sense then with the m3. They do have a facelift front bumper now for the m3 not sure if you guys have seen it yet or not but it looks so much better
