You can also play the verse with open chords. Use your index finger to barre the A (G#) chord at the second fret, and mute the first and sixth strings. Then play the D (C#) with strings 2, 3 and 4 while muting (or not playing) 6, 5 and 1. It's harder to describe than it is to play! Oh, and great lesson! 👍👍👍

Outstanding lesson; detailed examination of the rythum and leads with country bends and excellent vibrato. Well done. Thanks.

Nobody seems to be able to NAIL the tone on the intro chords. The sound is panned off to the left. That tone is incredible.

You should listen to James Gang "Live at Carnegie Hall", circa 1976. This album defines Acid Rock. Question: " How do you get to Carnegie Hall?" Answer below. Practice, practice, practice.

I really liked all the detail in your lesson here. The A Pentatonic riff and your string vibrato was excellent. I really love Walsh's style but he's tough for me to pick up on. One thing I think would help viewers is to be able to see your guitar neck closer on critical parts. But really learned a bunch here. Thanks a bunch.

Hey Adrian! This is actually the first time I have seen a dude play "Walk Away" correctly. I always felt goose bumps at his very last riff of the solo. Bending the G and grabbing the E and B making it a Major sound. Very country style riff he chucks in there. So typical of Joe doin that type of thing. Odd that players get , say, Jimmy Page or Billy Gibbons easily while you find Joe hard to really get. Joe is THE reason I began playing back in 1970-80, and he (for me) is almost too normal and very easy to copy in every way, chord and lead wise. Page can be tricky as hell at times and Ed Van Halen is just impossible for anyone alive on the planet. His timing is counted all on the AND or the up-beat 1 AND 2 AND 3 AND 4, blah blah. But it is his picking that is so unique that makes him absolutely IMPOSSIBLE to copy. That is just a fact and even dudes like Steve Vai cannot come close. It is that "swing" he has, and he changes things up that you do not even notice until you slow the track down and hear it. I used to play from 4 to 6 hours a day for years trying to master the guitar and here I am still learning. Sorry, we are talking Joe and I went on a EVH ramble!! lol. I would suggest you just try to listen to Joe very closely without trying to play for a few and thenj go for it! You will be rockin man!! I can tall by your comment , you got your stuff wired tight! Good luck Adrian!!

I’m confused on the first chord. Can this be played as an A bar chord (only hitting the lower strings) with the low E string muted?

so many to choose from - Fender vibro-champ is a great low watt tube amp and it overdrives great when you turn it way up see here sweetwater.sjv.io/rQX2kD, or if you need to keep things quiet, maybe a spark positive grid. that one has a ton of features to it to check out, see here sweetwater.sjv.io/eKNAyQ.
