Joe, that roof area with the water damage reminds me of a job we were on years ago. I worked for a contractor that did mechanical demolition, and I stepped onto a roof curb that once had either a skylight or an HVAC unit. They covered the opening with waste-of-wood , er, I mean wafer wood, and one of my legs went through, but my point is that whoever was there before we got on site didn't think things through. This building was once used by a defense contractor, but it's not likely they did any roof work as the building had been vacant for some time. It was being remodeled for part of an expansion of an online distributor. To boil things down, wafer wood should not be used for covering roof openings.

Thinking door was left open for morning food prep. Usually where snow comes from,not ice.

What I noticed with the timer was it was sitting at about 4 am in the morning your local time. And the water draining off the roof, is bypassing the roof drain due to the condition of the roof. And the distributor or TXV!

Also possibly a restricted external equalization tube not a low charge could be air infiltration only pressures could verify what the cause is
@dmiestercommkitchentech3043 Жыл бұрын
My first suspect would restricted distributor not undercharge expansion valve body would be incased with ice due to refrigerant flashing inside the Txv body not at the entrance of the distributor tube.
@keepright5232 Жыл бұрын
Why would you say so?
@dmiestercommkitchentech3043 Жыл бұрын
@@keepright5232 because refrigerant flashes off at the inlet of the distributor and is 75% vapor most undercharges will cause the expansion valve to become incase in ice because the lower amount of refrigerant causes the TXV valve body to be extremely cold which causes it to freeze up the valve body the freeze line was after the distributor instead of at the TXV so low charge was possible but not the most likely issue.

poor condition of the box and a good posibility of the door left open for a long period

Great video Bill. Very good possibility that air leakage from those warped panels could definitely be causing the issue. “Big Picture” right. Chris needs to get shirts made with that on there. 😅

So you’re thinking the ice was from too much moisture getting in the freezer?
