While TMC always gave the impression from the beginning that they are a party made of mostly goons, CPIM was a party which ran parallel crime syndicate in the name of ideology. West Bengal saw huge flight of capital from the beginning of left front rule. Jyoti Basu ensured that none in West Bengal would study English but his own family members went to the best of the college's. The state's health system was completely in shambles but he himself would make foreign jaunts regularly notably to America and Britain for his own treatment. The ruin he has caused to us is completely unmatched for in any modern democracy.
