Love Union City! I have been there many times on my way to New York City in the 1990s and 2000s. I stayed at the Palace hotel in 2008 in February and boy it was very cold but loved it! Thanks for showing us around Union City!

Well hello again. Thanks for doing these.

I am impressed by how clean and well lit Union City looks. Seems safe too. Though not very car friendly.

@@PeteFstuff I doubt is safe, lived in a building in 1994, West New York, close to Bergenline and 61St, apartments were robbed a few times, now should be worse. You have to live in the place to formulate an accurate picture.

The best days of Union City are way behind, I grew up here. Germans and Italians, then Cubans after 1959, the City was prosperous, alive, little by little started dying, is not the same, with all your respect, is a very poor town unlike the one I saw in 1980.

Yes, compare to other towns close by, such as summit, milburn

@@davidz7858 Jersey and the USA have changed a great deal in the last 40 years, change for the worst. I do not know how old you are. Not to bash the area, if you research it, tri-state are has been in a decline for around 30 years. I left Jersey in 2014, was in Houston, now in Fort Worth, much better than Jersey, no snow for me, lol. Bye

I have to disagree based on this video. I grew up in U.C. in the 50's and 60's and it was the best kids life I could've hoped for. I left when I was 21 over 50 years ago and still have fond memories. There was nothing like Bergenline Ave. during the holidays. It was great being able to walk or take a bus to where I needed to go or walking to school or Roosevelt Stadium to play or watch a game. Although there seemed to be a period of time the city started to show signes of deteriating, once the Cubans discoverd it, they revitalized the place. My parents lived in North Bergen until they passed in 2008 so I did get there back then but, except for driving or taking a train through the city on the wat to N.Y., I haven't been back.

@@MagSeven7 You disagree with what, not understanding you. Let me give you my opinion, it looks to me that Union City and West New York was pretty good back in the 50's and 60's, Cubans came over after 1959 when Castro took over. Both cities were great when I arrived back in 1980, in case you don,t know, I believe we couldn,t send money to Cuba or travel, Cubans invested in the city, started buss., purshased properties, in 1980 Cubans owned lots of buss. in both cities, including the very famous La Churerria on 42 st and Bergenline. Fast forward in the last 35 yrs, do you know that most Hispanics send billions and billions of dollars to Latin America, to families? Not saying this cause Im Cuban, in 1980, Cubans were did only Hispanics with 25 percent of them with degrees. A combination of low income Hispanics moving in, many that don,t spend much in the city, the United States economy declining since 1976, etc. Fast forward, I remembered those car dealers around 34 st. and Kennedy Blvd, all closed, unlike many towns in New Jersey, Union City and West New York got distroyed big time, the good days are all but gone. I live in Texas now. I remembered a store call David Burr, something like this, on 38 and Bergenline, nice store, almost everything started closing little by little. Adios

@@Tech-vn1jv Unfortunately, I haven't lived in U.C. sine 1970, but I loved growing up there in the 50's and 60's. I know it went through some tough times but from this video appears to be in good shape now. I do remember DAvid Burr. Also Sleshingers and Houlthousans (sorry for the spelling) stores. My Mom always went there my school clothes. I wish somebody had done a walking tour with a video camer in the 60's. That would've been something to see!
