You said it was a long way but actually it sounds like it was shorter in the video because I am listening to your cane hit the pavement and the sounds of the traffic and what you are saying to me all at the same time.

I would use constant contact and make sure you stay in the middle of the sidewalk so you do not get you cane stuck or hit the sides.

When you hit the tactile bumps on the corner and it slopes down you know that you hit the corner. One problem is a lot of sidewalks are cracked and not level and you get the cane stuck in the cracks. It must be a really busy street because the traffic sounds are really loud and close to you I think.

Hi many thanks for your great videos. I am a guide dog owner but I always ensure that my cane skills are sharp. My guide dog is 9 now and may retire at any time so when waiting for the next guide dog I will be using a cane on daily basis. Which cane would you recommend a fiberglass or graphite one? I would be very greatful for your advise.

You're very welcome. I'm a big fan of graphite, light and strong. I don't have much experience with fiberglass so hard for me to make a fair comparison. Hope that helps.

I can hear you hitting the pavement with your cane and I think I can hear when you stopped at the corner but the traffic sounds are loud and close so you know that you are not able to cross the street yet.

Hi, I like your video and have subscribed to your channel. I am not sure what you mean by blocker car. It sounds like a car in the near lane of traffic that is coming toward you. Are you waiting until you hear the car perpendicular to you to know it is ok to cross. If there were another care behind that car, it could be dangerous.

I’ve always been a constant contact type person. In which situations would you use 2 point touch?
@Blindonthemove
@Blindonthemove 4 жыл бұрын
I like two point touch on really rough terrain so I get stuck less. Or on grass. But I prefer constant contact most of the time.
@pagzplay

That sounds like a really long section of pavement to me.

You really need to use constant contact all the time because something can change at any time. You said that it sounds long and maybe not interesting but it always sounds like that and I think you went a long way with your cane and for me the video went by fast because I was listening to you talk and your cane hitting the pavement and trying to identify things that you are hitting and listening to the traffic sounds at the same time so for me there was a lot going on in your video so it was not slow at all but maybe it was for other people who are not listening to everything in the video like I am.
