Walk with me | Ep. 7 - Shimla, Himachal Pradesh | Jakhu Hill | Temple Ropeway & Hanuman Statue

Sep, 2023: This video starts with a beautiful morning at an old and famous hotel located on the Bantony Hill in Shimla. The expansive views of hills far into the distance, chirping of early morning birds, bright summer sun, and blues skies make for a magical start to our day and to our video.
We spend a few minutes taking in the views before heading out and heading east towards another famous hill of Shimla.
While on our way east we pass through the famous and historical spots of The Ridge, The Mall, Gaiety Theatre, Christ Church to finally reach the base of the tallest hill of Shimla, Jakhu Hill. While climbing up this hill we witness the area where the United Services Club was once located. We continue our trek up the hill until we reach the spot from where we get our ropeway trolley to the summit of this hill.
At the summit of Jakhu Hill is one of the most famous temple of this area, Jakhu Temple. This temple also has a huge statue of Lord Hanuman that is around 33 meters tall, making it taller than the Statue of Christ Redeemer in Brazil. We spent a good amount of time at the temple, relaxing and taking it the beautiful views as well as the calming vibes of this famous Hindu religious place. We witness the troublesome monkeys of this area and we also take a stop at a small cafe in the temple where we eat some hot and delicious food. The video ends soon after we arrive at the base of the Jakhu Hill where the Christ Church is located.
