She didn't mess it up. When you're an artist you put your own twist to songs you cover without making them unrecognizable. And she fid an amazing job. It's not easy to what she did, to add her own sense of harmony and phrasing. She really excelled, so did her rhythm guitar and vocal guy. I bet Trisha daw this and was impressed. I do Strawberry wine as a male singer and I change the pronouns to sing it from a guys perspective without butchering the song. Vanessa killed it! She owned that song by relating her experience to how she interprets music. That's not an easy thing to do... but damn Vanessa killed it!!!
