Wow! What a trip! It must have been an amazing feeling of accomplishment after the trip. Filming while doing the hike seems like a lot of work as well. But the video came out great. You got so many great shots. Thank you for sharing!

What a superb rendering of an amazing trip! Thank you for making this video and inspiring others to take in the wonders of this world (even if not 120 miles at a time on foot!). Kudos to you, James!

Thanks! I'm doing this hike in August. My goal is to have no more than 10kg on my back. I did GR52 in France two summers ago and 13kg was just too much for me.

Hey James, great video! I am planning to do the WHR this summer. I'm wondering what you did to train in the weeks and months before the trek? I also live in Austin and there are not a lot of mountains around here

Hey Timninety9, I'm excited for you - it was an amazing trip! I did my usual exercise routine (weight lifting and cardio) but also put about 20lbs of weights in my trekking backpack and went for walks in the week leading up to the trip, though I think I probably could have done more earlier - it got really grueling. I didn't have any injuries except for a few scraps and cuts and general soreness. Mostly make sure your traps and leg muscles are in good shape - my feet were constantly sore but not much you can do about that. Have you been to the River Place hiking trail? Back and forth I think it's about five miles and it's probably moderate, maybe a couple intense sections here and there. Hope that helps!
