Great video and photography, James. You saw Fiordland in its prime. Lots of rain and lots of birdlife. It's not a trek for the fainthearted but obviously very popular. Thanks for your visit to our country. Your outro will help future trampers.

Might've been a bit of a bummer w/the rain BUT that was a more unique experience/memories of that trek, I bet! Brought back all my NZ roadtrip memories. I didn't even attempt to get permits for Milford bc I figured I'd never get it, but I should've tried since I was solo on my trip too. I did Routeburn instead. I split it into 2: when I was in Milford I hiked in that side to Key Summit. Then went to Glenorchy & hiked in the opposite side to Routeburn Falls hut (+ a few extra miles). Definitely been trying to go back to NZ ever since, so much more to explore!

Glad you enjoyed your tramp, James. Oddly enough a lot of people complain about the weather on the track, while admiring the vegetation of the temperate RAIN FOREST! Great video!

Thanks! I saw the silver lining of the weather; still grateful to have gotten the chance to do it!

The type 2 fun is real! Great video James - the footage looks exactly how it felt. I can still feel the warmth of that day 3 sunshine.
