My new to me 1930’s Walker Turner drill press has had a pretty neglected 80 yrs of life. Missing pieces, broken pieces, and pieces from other machines. I decided to add to that list today. I don’t use the elevation crank on my Rockwell/Delta overarm router and decided to take it off and put it on the drill press. Originally I wanted it to be below the table, but the screw won’t clear the base. So I figure the table can be stationary and the whole upper will adjust up and down. The table moves very easily, too easily. It falls as soon as you loosen the lock. I’ll try this for a while.
Sorry I don’t have sound, my phone is broken. My voice was made for silent movies anyway.

i think this is better cause the head assy is well balanced with the motor being at the back, so less binding when going up and down. I would like to so that on my machine too!
