Very nice video about one of the fascinating hiking route in switzerland. By the way, it's very funny to see you walking 15 days to see the Matterhorn and then it's completely foggy ^^ ... I am planning to hiking the route in 2020, but with tent and biwak. Thx for sharing your experience!

I'm years late, but great video! It looks like a once in a lifetime trip. I'm thinking about doing this solo in July 2025. Was there ever a time where you lost the trail? My only concern going solo is losing the trail, especially over the rocky glaciers

There are many variations of the trail to take along the way so ‘lost’ may mean you are off the route you have chosen to take and are heading off on a variation to another little village or cabane. You do need a kind of plan. As all the routes are marked with the same logo, it’s just a ‘trail’ marker rather than THE trail marker. Brendan from The Hiking Club is brilliant and for a small cost will set u up with the right itinerary maps and a little app to help you. Check them out.

What shoes did you use ?

I think on that trip I was using Altra Lone Peak shoes. Not much weight being carried so runners were fine, although my wife prefers a boot.

@@scvawser Great Thanks. I just did Camino Norte and Primativo using Lone Peak 8's. They were good for that job.
