The city lies distant, a ghostly specter on the horizon, its lights a dim memory against the encroaching night. I live within the belly of this iron beast, a solitary existence marked by the hum of its engines and the ceaseless crunch of debris underfoot. Each day is a pilgrimage through the bones of a forgotten civilization, scavenging among the ruins for remnants of a world that once was, now claimed by the relentless passage of time. The silence of Zone-8 is a constant companion, broken only by the occasional wail of the wind and the creak of metal as the Walker and I continue our endless patrol, bound together in a symbiotic dance through the desolation.
