I'm from Moseley/King's Heath but I live in Italy now. Thank you for uploading this. It brings back so many memories and I can see some changes already, even though I only left Birmingham 5 years ago.

@@citiesthroughmyeyes not completely but there's alot of changes. There used to be Woolworths where Poundland is on the corner of Insitute road and supershopper was an indoor, independent shopping centre with a cafe inside. The Hair and Hounds pub is awesome. Kings heath is still fab xx

Hi first time subscriber. I was born in 72 in dudley Road hospital and my family lived in great bar, wide acre drive until 76 when we moved to Ireland. My dad is Irish and my mother is a brummie. My nan lived in King's heath until she passed away in 1984. I have such vivid memories of Kings heath and I haven't visited Birmingham since 1994. Thankfully both of my parents are still with us and most of my relatives have passed away who lived in Birmingham. I know I didn't live in Birmingham very long and I still have relatives who still live there, but due to my mother falling out with my cousin who still lives there I have never gotten the chance to know where he lives so I can't contact him and my mother won't give me his details, but I'm in the process of getting in contact with his brother. Anyway I've been away for quite a while and thinking about the past and all of my memories certainly brings a tear to my eye. It's funny buy I still have a compulsion to go back and revisit the old homestead. As soon as covid is over I will definitely return. I now have 4 kids and a granddaughter and I would really like to show them where I came from. Thank you for your uploads 😁

For your amusement, since the 'past is a foreign country'. I was a teenager in King's Heath in the 60s. Outside London, and second after Coventry, King's Heath was the second largest provincial Sainsbury's supermarket in 1967. I worked there on Saturdays. The Old Court was the Cross Guns, the Hare and Hounds is still there, the Kingsway actually was a working cinema. You could even watch Dr No and From Russia with Love in the same afternoon. Darlaston's newsagency is now the Cosy Cafe. There was a gent's barbers in Poplar Road, and a decent toy shop in York Road. There were toilets in the ground at the top of Vicarage Road. Where Lidl now is in Silver Street, Tommy Godwin had his bike shop. There was a swimming pool in Institute Road, behind Poundland, which was Woolworths.

Thanks for video made me sad all my family lived in Kings Heath. I moved from Kings Heath in 1967 to Tamworth in slum clearance. Went to Colmore Rd and Wheelers Lane School. I lived off Partons Rd in one of the cul de sacs. I can not belive the Kingsway is still standing.

@@citiesthroughmyeyes Thank for getting back. the only times I have been back to Kings Heath has been for funerals and I have lived in Essex for 35yrs. I have a few relatives buried in Brandwood End. My aunt got married in the church in Kings Heath in the 60s. I used to go to the Kingsway every saturday morning for the matinee for 6d. My Grandad spent most of his life in the Red Lion or The Hazellwell pub. I have a picture of me and my cousin receiving an award at Colmore Rd School from Janice Nicholls and the pop group Dave Dee. Sorry do not no how old you are but you can google names.
