Yeah, I don’t get what he meant by that either. I thought maybe he was referring to the recent, mini condo boom we had in & around downtown in the last 5 years (like the Flagler Village & Victoria Park neighborhoods nearby, as well as tearing down & rebuilding/redeveloping what was Las Olas Riverfront, where The Wharf is now). But like you said, the city pretty much has been well-developed since (at the very least) the late 1970s-early 1980s

What freedoms they have in Florida that they don't have in New York? In New York there is freedom to get an abortion. Freedom to identify has trans. Freedom to read a book about the history of slavery. Freedom to attend a drag show. Freedom to smoke a joint and chill on the front porch. None of those 'freedoms' exist in Florida.

De fresco is a steakhouse but are known for their stone crab claws. It’s also a chain restaurant. They have locations in Miami, ft Lauderdale, one in Orlando, and one in Tallahassee somewhere. It’s kinda expensive too. It’s more of a date night restaurant really or an anniversary restaurant. Mike Chen went there once because it was the only thing open serving crab claws at 11 pm, it’s up on one of his channels.mike was doing a multi city tour for some city eats show and Miami was a stop so yeah. The restaurant has a Italian twist on food even though it’s a steakhouse. Honestly Fishbone is better as they do great local fish and steak plus it’s my default date night spot. They also do a full salad mixed at table side for you. Worth the price every time.

I 'get' the appeal of Florida for some people, but every video I've seen of Miami, St. Petersburg, Fort Lauderdale, Tampa, etc., just makes Florida seem sterile and lifeless AF, I rarely see any of the beautiful women Florida is (supposedly) known for, the stifling near year-round humidity would not work for me, and neither would the omnipresent reptiles, insects, and wildlife. Admittedly, the city streets seem very clean by northeastern U.S. standards. Hopefully, that will continue.......as I have heard Florida referred to as NYC's 6th borough for quite some time. About 12 years ago, I spent a year in Tampa one week (it felt like a year). Same trip, we drove through downtown Miami at lunchtime on a weekday. Might as well have been Omaha, Nebraska with taller buildings and palm trees. About the only appealing place I've been to in Florida is Key West, and even that seems like it would get 'old' to me after about a month or so.
