This is awesome. You went right to my old stomping grounds. Me and my buddies used to go down into that resevoir all the time when we were kids. If you keep going towards the frankford side via the res you'll be able to climb up into the Juniata golf course.

Man! I can't believe that market is still on Church st across from the church. I used to buy all kinds of penny candles from there on my way to my friends house on Church n Griscom. Ty Toon. Also, if you have a vr headset Kingspray is a great chill game to knock around ideas w/o wasting paint. 👍

10:00 - That body of water is Frankford Creek, right? North of Roosevelt Blvd it becomes Tacony/Tookany Creek. IIRC that Creek divides the North & Northeast Philly grids (note street name/numbering differences on map).

Spent a lot of time in Juniata from the 70s through the 90s. Nice to see it's stayed relatively clean although the neighborhood looks a little old and shabby now, somewhat neglected by the homeowners/renters.

The place where you dropped the van off for your mom was probably B&B Used Auto Body Parts. My father used to work there. We used to live at 1547 Adams Ave. It's a vacant lot now. At the corner of Kensington & Adams. They tore those houses down back in the mid 90's.

It is but I'd like to know the history of this. I went to North Catholic and the Frankford Creek runs right by it and it looks like a regular creek. My question is, was this really part of the natural creek or was it a rerouted sewer system. There has to be some reason that the bottom is concrete (man made) and not natural.

@@fairlessdave1834 It really is Frankford Creek. Above the Boulevard, it is called Tookany Creek and runs through Tookany Park. It is natural in its origin, but it was bolstered with concrete along part of its route.

Does anyone know why the creek bed is concrete and not natural? This looks to me that it was originally part of a man made sewer system that was eventually abandoned.

It's a drainage system... when it rains it fills up and has a strong curent going toward our river (Delaware) never get caught there during rains ull be swept away..
