Walking from Bouley Bay to Rozel (Part 1)

‪@thereluctantoutdoorsman‬ Paddy the cockapoo and I continue our walk along the rugged North coast of Jersey, Channel Islands. In today's video we set off from the beach at Bouley Bay and immediately join the cliffpath behind the (now-closed) Water's Edge Hotel. Heading to the East we see glorious cliff-top views out to the sea below.

Hi Tom and paddy G, nice walk once again with terrific views, yes I too was concerned about your breathing hope you're consultant can sort this out for you, when you reach one of those seats with a view have five minutes, just be carful, it's all that up hill climbing, I couldn't do it my legs won't let me, takes me all my time to walk on the flat have to keep stopping ( cardiovascular dease) getting older ain't much fun, poor paddy having been stung, glad you discovered it & he's on form now he's such a good boy, a lovely dog & yes we miss our dogs, think about them all a lot, anyway let's hope the weather keeps up although it going to rain in Yorkshire next week so I'm making the most of it, than Tom keep safe.

Hi June, thanks for your kind words. Yes I removed the sting from Paddy's nose with a pair of tweezers! I couldn't believe that it had worked its way out after weeks of complications! I really thought he was done for the poor little fellah.....and look at him now! 😁 By the way.....keep walking June..... on the flat is fine! Great exercise for your heart! 👍🏻

Hi Tom, thanks for another spectacular video. Wow is fine by me and is an adequate description of these cliff paths. I got home from Jersey last night after a wonderful week, and boy did I pick the weather, it was beyond anything I was expecting and my packing was mostly wrong😂 I did 4 of your country walks which were so enjoyable and I would never have found them without your videos. Thanks to your clear directions I didn't get lost once. Part of Fern Valley is closed off for safety reasons due to storm damage. I look forward to doing more when I return for 2 weeks in July. I'm so glad to hear the good report regarding your health, some of these walks are pretty strenuous even for someone who hasn't had a heart attack, and you don't walk slowly, so you do very well. I did this walk in the opposite direction 2 years ago so it's bringing back fond memories and I look forward to part 2. Take care and enjoy this lovely weather we are blessed with at the moment.

July is just around the corner, so not long now until your return! I actually recorded this walk in the opposite direction as well, so that will appear sometime on the channel although all of a sudden I have quite a lot of footage in reserve! You are so so fortunate to get to live in my favourite place, my 2nd home,, beautiful Jersey... I've been coming and going regularly for 30+ years but still manage to get myself lost 😊 ☘️

I sincerely hope you have many more videos to come Tom. When I first Hurd you panting and breathless I thought to myself hell Tom your going to have do more easy routes, but if the doctor said you are ok that’s fine. Welcome to the aches and sore joints club and it all comes with age unfortunately as I’ve had them for sometime now but one can’t give in and you are doing a sterling job Tom. This is a lovely walk and very picturesque and if you want to say wow Tom that’s fine because that’s the best way to describe a beautiful view. Lovely to see Paddy running around and glad it was all sorted out thanks to you. Cheers

Thanks Nic. The consultant needs to do tests whilst I'm on a treadmill but said my blood and cholesterol are now superb and thinks I'll be as good as new with some medication change. I totally managed to grab defeat from the jaws of victory in today's medal! I was going so well that Paddy could have played the last four holes and we would still have won. Unfortunately had minor disasters on 15 and 16 and a catastrophe on 17 to end up coming 7th. The rough is now completely unplayable..........64 NRs out of a field of 118!

@@thereluctantoutdoorsman I'm glad you will still be walking around the Island and you are ok. As for the golf something will have to be done as deep rough spoils it in my opinion. Well played anyway its what a could have been round and I have had many in the past.

Hiya Tom and Paddy , after playing a round of golf for the first time in 7 months today my whole body is aching 😀😀but it always beneficial to watch your videos to get over the pain . Here are some other words you could use instead of WOW (awesome,unreal & superb) but WOW is probably suitable because it is just WOW 👍👍. The Waters Edge Hotel back in the seventies was probably one of the best places to stay and its a shame it looks like it will be demolished for somebody to build apartments or even a house there . Looking forward to the remaining parts of this tough trek along the north coast.The new cafe is a great idea as there is not much in the way of refreshing yourself after a trip there. Keep Healthy and all the Best .
