Walking Hoboken, NJ to Frank Sinatra Statue & Carlo's Bake Shop (January 2022)

I walk on the waterfront of Hoboken, NJ to the newly installed Frank Sinatra Statue and then I take a walk along Washington Street to the legendary Carlo's Bake Shop. Hoboken is located directly across the Hudson River from the NYC borough of Manhattan and is worth visiting!

Great video! Hoboken has some of the best views of Manhattan. I loved living in Hoboken back in the mid to late 80's. It was my version of living in a small town since I grew up in Brooklyn. Hoboken was quiet and way cheaper than NYC back in those days. My room mate and I called Hoboken "Mayberry" and referred to Washington St. as Main St. We used to talk to the girls working at the video store on Adams St. from our 2nd floor apartment window. We both worked in Manhattan and hung out on the Lower Eastside. Whenever it was time to head on home, we would just hop on the Path train back to Hoboken. I don't think that the ride to Hoboken was more than 10 minutes from the station in Greenwich Village.

Me & my husband love Hoboken and we go whenever the weather permits. We walk the entire city since it is only one square mile. Can’t wait to go back and explore once the weather is warmer. We haven’t seen the new statue yet😊

Hoboken , very nice walk along the water front on such a cool crisp sunny afternoon 🌄 to see old blue eyes statue . How many miles do you walk in one of your videos? About 5-6 miles? You have to be in great physical shape. Here in San Antonio not much walking unless you’re on a hiking trail. I got up to 4 miles a day but that was too much so 2 miles is plenty for me. It’s in 70’s here today but cold front coming in. I lived in Plattsburgh NY for 2 years so understand the cold weather in NY.

The mask mandate was lifted. Cafe life was quiet for a while but things are getting back to normal. Take the train if you're going to Hoboken. Parking is horrible.

@@seankelly9447 I like Charritos for Mexican. Skip Arthur's. The Cuban is pretty good, surprisingly large inside. Zacks on Third and Willow has a nice old time bar and grill vibe Karma Cafe fir Indian rates high. It depends on what you are into. We aren't drinkers, so places with booze as the main attraction rates low for us. To be honest, I like the restaurant scene in Jersey City better, Madame Claudes and The Beechwood, Raza for puzza. The nice thing in Hoboken is everything is close together. You can walk anywhere in town on 15 minutes or less.

@@seankelly9447 Some of the better places are tucked away on side streets. I forgot to mention Chango's on Third and Willow for Cuban food. It's decent, and has some of the best coffee around. And their chicken soup is perfect for a cold day. Bottom line, Washington Street for people watching. Side streets for food, waterfront for views. But if you're thinking about moving to Hoboken, you'll save a lot of dough if you move to JC Heights or the South end of Union City. It's the difference between renting and owning for us, and we can walk to Hoboken when we want it, but have found over the years that we go less and less.

It's a bar town, full of people who are still trying to live their fraternity life into their 30s. It's also segregated. People of color mostly live on the western fringe Of the city. But if you enjoy only hanging out with other young urban professionals It's okay. It is expensive. Adjacent zip codes in neighboring communities are cheaper and more diverse. It floods pretty bad a couple times a year. Schools are decent and it's very convenient if you work in Manhattan. It's a very walkable community and fairly safe for an urban setting.

Those are BIG's Twisting Towers at 76 eleventh avenue in the artist chelsea district. Not my cup of tea, as in my home town of hamburg, germany we got a pair of those too in 2010 or so, called "the dancing towers" or somethin, kind of stomach turning, i am just too conservative, cheers.

Yeap. Its considered a city, but a small one, just about a mile square. Here in Hudson County we have some of the most densely populated cities and towns in the country. Its like the sixth boro of NY, but its just a nickname, cuz Hudson County is in New Jersey.
