I am surprised to see Berlin look like this. I can tell that it is beautiful, open, and widespread but somewhat abandoned and not kept up. In comparison, most Latin American cities look better!

Rex Hargrove .....Not to be a contrarian, but that depends on where you live. Here in Southern Arizona are bike trails, and annually senior (as in old people) games sponsor seniors' bike marathons. I'm just saying.

I love these video journeys--I walk everywhere and so watching these I can tell I'm getting an accurate feel for the place. I can almost feel the air and smell the streets. If I were in this part of Berlin, I'd be nervous. Were you? In the states and uk similar looking areas are dangerous. The only german cities I've been to were Heidelberg and Hamburg--they mostly lacked the graf and messy dangerous feel.

Kreuzberg was really Dangerous. Today most of the criminality is gone. They do have really big Problems with drug Dealers but they dont Attack, Pickpocket or mug other people

If he hadn't reacted like he did then he wouldn't have made that impression on me. Of course black people aren't all drug dealers but it's also not uncommon for a black guy in a local park, in central Europe to be a drug dealer, that's just how it is.

Its Berlin Kreuzberg and a little bit of Berlin-Mitte. And it is only the 36 part of Kreuzberg. If u walk down the "Landwehrkanal" into the west u come to the more middle-class Kreuzberg 61. Less grafitti, at least for most parts. :)

Ja, the graffiti ruined a lot of the buildings. I noticed there's a lot of litter lying around too. Some narration about where you're walking would be helpful for those of us who've never been there.
