"This very special place has been enjoyed by guests for hundreds of years and we hope you enjoy your visit too. There’s over 1,000 acres to explore, Fort Douglas to play in, Go Ape to explore, Restoration Yard to eat, shop and relax in and plenty of outdoor activities to enjoy some fresh air in."
You'll find the magical Fort Douglas adventure park alongside Restoration Yard, a gorgeous store, restaurant and wellbeing space in the former eighteenth century stableyard and Tuscan-inspired courtyard which has been lovingly restored.
There's also the wider park to discover with architecture to admire and waymarked walking and cycling trails to suit the whole family and camping for one month mid July to mid August. Explore the Old Oak Wood with trees over 900 years old, meander along the river, enjoy a picnic, or simply breathe in the fresh air of this beautiful country park, which you'll find hard to believe is just a few miles from Edinburgh's city centre. Admire the historic architecture built by ancestors of the Buccleuch family who still own the estate to this day, by famous Scottish architects such as James Smith, Robert Adam and William Burn. Or enjoy a little nature spotting on a walk - roe deer, otters, badgers and buzzards all call the park home.
