I designed and built the Portage Lake District Library sign while I was working in Marquette, Michigan.

I have so many happy memories of that Library, it is such a cozy and inviting place on a stormy winter afternoon! Good job on the sign!

Houghton is a really nice small city(and great to walk in as long as you dont mind hills!)

@@christines.1546 I've heard of the place but it wasn't until I saw a video about it on youtube recently that got me interested. It looks like a really charming town and makes me think of what one might think of when they think of a small new england city. I need to visit. From southwest Detroit btw.

@@timlamb6196 It is totally worth a visit, it makes a good point to head up into the Keweenaw or even a quick trip to the Porkies to see Lake of the Clouds! It is big enough to have all the things that you need for a good vacation and small enough for that "small town" feel! If you ever get this way check out The Suomi restaurant (right by the public library and either get the thin Finnish pancakes or go all out and get a pannukakku !

@@christines.1546 Ooh those thin Finnish pancakes sounds really good. Yes that area is on my bucket list.

Maam how is the job opportunity here?
@christines.15462 жыл бұрын
I am not sure anymore as i no longer live in Houghton but the Upper Peninsula as a whole has a pretty meager amount of jobs mostly in the seasonal tourist trade.

@@gamingwithasif6563 It is a wonderful beautiful area but people and jobs are low. I think the Upper Peninsula as a whole is just over 16000 square miles in area with a total population of around 300000 people. We have far more wildlife than people! It is a beautiful area but poses its own very unique sets of challenges( winters average 200-300 inches of snow and last from October-late April!!)
