Completed in 2017, Ping An Finance Centre is now Shenzhen's tallest building, also securing status as the second tallest in China and the fourth tallest in the world.
Ping An Finance Center is located in the city’s Futian District and represents a new generation of the prototypical Asian skyscraper: very tall, very dense, and hyper-connected.
------------------------------
Ping An Finance Center rises from a prominent location in the center of the city, connecting seamlessly to neighboring commercial and residential properties, as well as the Pearl River Delta’s high-speed rail corridor.
The building is named after Ping An Insurance Company of China, which is one of the world's biggest investment companies.
The shape of the tower is that of a taught steel cable, outstretched by the sky and the ground at once.
At the top of the tower, the façades taper to form a pyramid, giving the tower a prismatic aesthetic.
The form is emphasized by eight composite super-columns that extrude beyond the building envelope.
This design is not only visually appealing, but also practical.
The streamlined shape of the tower improves both structural and wind performance, reducing baseline wind loads by 35%.
The façade of Ping An Finance Center is one of its most important features.
------------------------------
At the time of completion, the tower is adorned by the largest stainless steel façade in the world to date, using a total of 1,700 tons of 316L stainless steel.
Its material was chosen specifically for this project due to its corrosion-resistance, which will keep the appearance of the Ping An Finance Center unchanged for several decades despite Shenzhen’s salty coastal atmosphere.
The supertall headquarters for Ping An Insurance Company acts as the physical and iconic center of the city's central business hub, the Futian District.
The building is also defined by a central atrium, which serves as a public vestibule and allows daylight in, creating a welcoming space for meeting, shopping and dining.

You really "Max"ed out on this trip to the very top of Shenzhen. I love the entrance with the light show. You can really see the very edge of this city from the observation level and all the other skyscrapers look so small. I thought the price of $30 USD was quite pricey especially for China. This is about the same price as going up the tallest tower in Canada, CN tower. However Ping An has more exhibitions to offer. Is there a restaurant at the top for a skyview dining experience? Thanks for another great and different video. Max you are the best!
@WalkEast
@WalkEast 4 жыл бұрын
Haha, thanks for Maxing me, that's so nice of you! The price $30 USD is not cheap, and you're so right about it! But the title of "tallest building in Shenzhen" made people love to pay the pricey ticket for a bird eye view experience. There's no public restaurant at the top of this building. Maybe it's not a pure place for tourists, it's an office tower first, not like Canton Tower. Thank you so much, my dear friend, have a cozy weekend!

I was so emotional watching this vid. I'm so happy for China's grand development. US will never be able to bring down China. China is powerful; and that might comes within its people. High honors to the CCP, socialism does work when you have honest authorities. Thanks a million for showing us part of the grandeur of Shenzhen. You did an amazing job with your camera.

The entry is really weird.. that would make me feel dizzy and confused XD, it's really psychedelic. That table with the small model demo of the "smart city", remember me some Watch Dogs video game stuff hahaha XD, feel like you can hack it and turn off the lights of the city and make a huge blackout XD I like the idea of the elevator showing a view of the city and some FX...it's very well done :D 4:10 what is this all about ? :O (in case it's not the good time, i m talking about that robot thing and the kid taking a picture) The view on the top is crazy :O... feel more comfortable when you turn and see the board about the new vibration system for tall building XD I wonder what kind of view you can have of the city if you go all the way up during sunshine... it must make the city and horizon look awesome :O 9:21 is that the famous PAFC system ? it look like the inside of a bomb XD 9:37 oooh, the souvenir coin ? that's a cool souvenir :D i love to take one when i go visiting something, it make a nice collection when you start to get many of them. Thanks for this visit, that building look pretty nice, i like the top floor, the view is pretty cool with the large opening windows (and ground XD), i laughed alots when i saw the woman laying down with the stick to take a selfie like if she is falling down XD It's crazy to see such big building from outside, but it's more crazy when you go inside and see all teh stuff that they containt :O happy weekend :D

Weird as always inside this kind of tall things, hahahah, Frank, I felt weird too during the journey! The real environment even more dizzy and psychedelic...just like a VR tour... ---------- remember me some Watch Dogs video game stuff hahaha XD, feel like you can hack it and turn off the lights of the city and make a huge blackout XD HAHAHAH, exactly! That lights stands for controlling of the city, and if you turn off the lights, that means the city lost of control!! Thank god, the city is not a video game...XD ----------- I like the idea of the elevator showing a view of the city and some FX...it's very well done :D That's the developed history of the city, and I just wondering how many times the female elevator staff has watched this video, maybe she had no sense about it any more...hahaha ---------- 4:10 what is this all about ? You just asked a very interesting thing. Notice the number on the top? That number stands for how many times the weight of the wind damper compared to the people stand on that stage. At 4:10, the number is 20920, that means the weight of the wind damper is 20920 times the weight of the kid.... Someone think it's stupid, but I really think it's creative and interesting. .XD ---------------------- The view on the top is crazy :O... feel more comfortable when you turn and see the board about the new vibration system for tall building XD I know, I know, Frank, I know you may feel not that comfortable during a bird eye view, I always know that, haha, and I even think about your height frighten during the shooting job..XD ----------- 9:21 is that the famous PAFC system ? it look like the inside of a bomb XD no argue about that, just like a high tech bomb, and for me, it's like a Chinese traditional lantern. -------- 9:37 oooh, the souvenir coin ? that's a cool souvenir :D i love to take one when i go visiting something, it make a nice collection when you start to get many of them. I almost bought it...and I love the golden coin too, very beautiful small thing! ---------- i laughed alots when i saw the woman laying down with the stick to take a selfie like if she is falling down XD I laughed a lot too, you know, I just cut a few seconds of the woman, because she is lying down with a short skirt, and it's not polite to film from that angle, and I just delete a short part, but she made me laugh for real, very interesting moment, and I always has the same feel with you...XD ------------ Frank, hope you have a great weekend at home, and nice mood all the time!

@@WalkEast oooh :O, i think it's a nice idea to compare the weight of people with the weight of the vibraton system. of course i could expect it to be very heavy, after all, it's suppsoed to deal with the whole building XD. haha, you right ! it also look like a lantern XD the yellow in middle can even represent a flame or candle.
