I love Swindon. Went there for the XTC convention last fall and we did a 7 mile walking tour of the city. Cool place.

Used to be my home too and have been living in California since 2004. So nice to see it again even if it does look so different!

The Steam Museum is at the Designer village and you would get to it going down that long tunnel and out the other end and its near the outlet shops. I'd def recommend a visit to that museum. Not sure what the Railway village Museum is like with all the scaffolding as I have never been to that one. I assume that is more about the actual housing area where all the train workers used to live around there.

Great video, but you missed a lot. I guess though for someone who has never been you may not know where to look. You missed the outlet village, the lawn woods, coate water, wood street in old town, north swindon. There is a lot to see. Swindon is my home town, although I don’t reside there. It’s funny to see some familiarities and the change around of shops. Still a lot of shops closed sadly, but in time I’m sure it will all bounce back. Queens park, and town gardens, west Swindon shopping centre. Hopefully you come back again. Maybe in summer.

Thanks for coming. Couple of things you might be interested in. Here is a quick video of the Parade (where your video started) on its last day before modernising the area to a bus boulevard. The area is now under a 2 year redevelopment kzbin.info/www/bejne/oYvKpGOvjaula6M And this is the documentary on my channel of the last days of GWR Swindon Works before it finally closed in 1986 kzbin.info/www/bejne/d4XafKSapa1ng9k Enjoy. Loved your walk around.

Swindon is not a city! An interesting video, but why didn't you explore the Brunel Centre?
@chrisgc7710 ай бұрын
You run the potential of being told to leave as no recording unfortunately in the Brunel Centre.
