Walking Kotka: Katariina neighbourhood, March 31st, 2024, Finland [4K]

Walk around Katariina neighbourhood of Kotka. Walk begins from Katariina Seaside Park and continues through Katariina residential area and from there to the Sapokka park. Katariina seaside park is a 20-hectare outdoor recreational area built around the 18th-century Svensksund fortress (finnish: Ruotsinsalmen linnoitus). Ruins of Fort Katarina are still visible. Largest naval battle of the Baltic Sea was around the area and the the Gulf of Finland when the Second Battle of Svensksund (Finnish: Ruotsinsalmi) was a fought on 9 and 10 July 1790.

I really enjoy seeing this area of Kotka and the neighborhood of Katariina it is really awesome here especially around the lake area everything here is magnificent looking and I enjoy seeing the houses they are awesome and the forest is amazing another awesome video walking tour in another beautiful part of Finland 🇫🇮Kiitos🇫🇮:)

What a lovely walk in Kotka in the end of the winter! The Seaside park is very cool around this historical place. Always nice to see a neighbourhood with wooden houses and I remembered Sapokka park from a walk of yours few years back with this water garden, that of course looked different during the summer:)) And speaking for summer Mansikkalahti beach will be good choice then. Always nice to see Kotka!

Kotka on paras kaupunki. Pidän tästä kaupungista. Vietin siellä useita vuosia perheeni kanssa. Olen kävellyt reittejä pitkin kaupungin kaikkia katuja ja polkuja. Olen todella pahoillani, että Suomen viranomaiset ovat sulkeneet rajat ja Kotkaan pääsee vain pitkää tietä Norjan läpi. Kävimme Kotkassa joka viikonloppu. 1000 kilometriä Moskovasta ei ole este tälle. Nyt tie on pidentynyt, 4000 kilometriä on paljon. Kerran tai kahdesti vuodessa voit päättää tehdä niin pitkän matkan. Siksi muutamme reittiä itään. Siellä on myös muuta mielenkiintoista. Hyvästi Kotka, näkemiin Suomi. Nostalgia vähän vaivaa minua.
