Walking Las Vegas McCarran Int'l Airport Terminal 1

Just got back from Vegas last Monday - flew into McCarran at about 9:30 at night and between baggage claim and picking up my car at the car rental center on Gillespie street, didn't check into Mandalay Bay until almost 11 pm. I was tired and jet lagged from the flight but somehow Vegas has that ability to give me energy to still be able to go out and explore the strip!

Been coming to Vegas since the 70's, often twice yearly, I think the buzz starts at the airport. It definitely is a big part of the experience. Las Vegas is beyond special. Your videos are among the best of the vlogs, thank you for letting us stay in touch with Las Vegas.

I remember seeing this airport in the ticket counter area in the movie "Midnight Run". I've passed through here last fall connecting on Southwest Airlines to Lubbock, Texas which I was glad I found a place to smoke vs having to go outside. Thank you for sharing

For passenger traffic, McCarran International Airport comes in 8th for the US and 30th for the world. Hartsfield-Jackson Airport in Atlanta is #1 in the US and globally. Wow, I've been to 8 of the busiest airports in the world. I didn't know that until just now.

Probably my second favorite airport in the US, just behind Orlando MCO at #1 and ahead of Phoenix Sky Harbor or Sea-Tac tied at #3. Love coming off the plane and seeing them slot machines right in the terminals

Last time I was there my uber had to drop friends off at a different terminal than me and he took my luggage out thinking it was there's! So when we got to my drop off he opened the trunk and it was empty. I almost had a heart attack but within minutes I got a call and my luggage was in safe keeping 😊. So if you ever leave your luggage somewhere don't freak out too fast! Just make sure to always have your contact info attached! I've always had good experience at MCcarran! 😊 Also my uber was nice and didn't leave until he knew I had my luggage.

That's right you can see the Strip from Mccarran. Hell you can even walk to Mccarran. That's why taxi drivers take people through the Tunnel. It adds to cab fare. There used to be a bus stop just outside the airport that will even take you downtown to Fremont Street.

I have been to a lot of airports, I rate this one the best. Terminals 1 &2 are great. Not much thought went into Terminal 3 though. It is kind of plain looking.

To get to see more of the airport you have to have a ticket and go thru TSA checkpoint. Without a ticket, you can barely scratch the surface.

Hi, Monday will be my first time riding an airplane and my domestic flights are Atlanta, GA to Las Vegas, NV. Now I’m watching your video and I can’t help to panic when I see so many baggage claim carousels, how do I know which carousel to pick up my luggage from? I Can’t help to ask my second question, when you are laying over for the next flight do you have to pay luggage fees again to have your luggage put on a different plane but same Airline? Jacob - at 9:40 you told us that Nellis Air Force Base was named for William H Nellis which made me think "Who was McCarran"? I checked on Wikipedia and discovered there was a senator from Nevada named McCarran. Do you have any idea why the airport has Terminal 1 and Terminal 3, but no Terminal 2?

the last time i was in vegas i was not thinking and got wrong tram i ended up in terminal3 and had get free bus to t1 i was flying in from nj. what are main diff between t1 and t3 for arrivals eg. is one for int arrivals and the other domestic

@@ddd228 that's also a good question. Lot of options. I've prepaid shuttle services before. Taken a cab. Been a long time since I've flown in but it is a 6 to 7 hours drive from home. We do have a direct flight a few days a week and some time in the future might want to fly again. An hour or so flight beats a long drive.

The deuce use to run there if your spending most of the time on strip buy a pass for the duration of your stay. They run all day think it was like 6 bucks a day unlimited riding
