Walking Los Angeles : Hsi Lai Buddhist Temple, Hacienda Heights

I take a brief walk around the Hsi Lai Buddhist Temple in Hacienda Heights, CA. This is the largest Buddhist Temple in the Western Hemisphere. The architecture is absolutely stunning, and impressive to see all the structures. Hsi Lai means "Coming West", and is associated with Fo Guang Shan from Taiwan. I wasn't able to show the interior of the temple due to restrictions, but I was fortunate enough to step inside after the video was finished.

one of my favorite places in LA. The lunch buffet is very good. And often outside the little coffee shop there is a stand making the bean paste filled pancakes. Such a tasty treat

That temple is impressive!! I had no clue that it existed in L.A. (and such a major institution...being the North American Headquarters of that order of Buddhism)...really, really cool! I traveled to Macau, Hong Kong and Thailand...this place's structures remind me of the incredible intricacy of the temples there...the size of the campus too!! Great video, Sir!! P.S. I was allowed to take photos in the temples in the Far East...it's strange that the temple here was so strict.

I visited this place during Chinese New Year back in 2020 2 months before the pandemic and made a video about it. There's signage that you can't photograph or film inside the worship areas of the temple and I respected that but I filmed inside of the confines of the temple without being approached. Granted it was Chinese New Year and lots of people had there phones out for the festivities. Great video as always AK!

Really nice!! It was a long time that I wanted to see again this place i had visited in 2012! But... you must go back and go inside the museum!! there are incredible manufacts inside.. like i remember that there were little engraved things like micro pieces of invory with chinese letters written microscopically.. sry for my english! 😂
