Looked for 1495 Broadway where I studied Clarinet in the Leon Russianof studio from 1962-1965. Many happy memories of the City.

Thank you so much for posting this. I grew up in New York and left after college, almost 50 years ago, having since moved to California. I was always afraid to walk thru Harlem because it was so unsafe at that time. I had never been to the Columbia campus - thank you for taking me thru there for the first time.

Absolutely beautiful! You went through my neighborhood and the different places I used to work at. I currently live out of New York. Very well done. Thank you for explaining some areas but not talking a ton where it becomes so distracting. New subscriber here for sure. That was a long walk, and I did not even hear you stop for a bottle of water. Wow!

This is now my go to video when I’m having trouble sleeping. I suffer from insomnia. Your voice is very soothing and helps me focus on what you’re saying rather that focusing on my stressors. Thank you very much for these videos. Not only are they super informative but they are super relaxing. I love Manhattan and I feel like I’m walking with you. ♥️ BTW: you must be in very good shape. Walking these great distances is great for your overall health. Clearly you must have really good walking shoes :)) ♥️

You sir put a big smile on my face from 63th street to the end of the video. I stayed at the Empire Hotel for a long week witch is at 63th street with my son in 2019. First time ever visited bucket list worthy NYC. I also enjoyed seeing everything I didn't get the chance seeing from beginning of your walk up to 63th street. Greetings all the way from Suriname.

I was in NYC this past weekend for the first time since 2019, mostly in the Theater District, but we also took a walk over to Roosevelt Island. I noticed a lot of big improvements since the last time I was there. I have said many times that Manhattan would be a marvelous, walkable city if it wasn't for all the traffic. Well, I noticed a lot of new road diets, bike lanes, no-car plazas, and general improvements to walking. Traffic was still pretty bad, but MUCH better than the last time I was there. I really loved it. Also, folks were really lovely. I've been to NYC several times and have generally had positive experiences with folks. But this time, I don't know, it was different. It's hard to explain, but folks were really lovely. The only real "negative" is the same negative you find almost everywhere in the US. Drivers. They're awful. I think the drivers in NYC might be some of the worst, not because their behavior is worse than drivers in say Houston. It's more because...seriously, what the hell are you doing driving a personal vehicle in one of the most walkable/public transit-rich places in the United States? The only answer I can think of is, "because you're a selfish asshole." That makes their bad driving behavior that much more upsetting to me. Anyway, thanks for the video. I hope it's not 3 more years before my next visit (actually, we're thinking about coming back in a couple months...but that's iffy). I love seeing all the improvements and I hope it keeps moving in good directions. Reclaiming the city for people instead of for car warehousing could help make it such a wonderful place to live.

At least the buildings are hurricane proof with the exception of flash floods. Rip to the famalies of lost loved ones. Usually basement housing is a vilolation due to happenings like this that can occur out of the blue.
