A walk through most of the neighborhood of NoLIta in Lower Manhattan.
From Wikipedia:
"Nolita, sometimes written as NoLIta, and deriving from "North of Little Italy" is a neighborhood in the borough of Manhattan in New York City. Nolita is situated in Lower Manhattan, bounded on the north by Houston Street, on the east by the Bowery, on the south roughly by Broome Street, and on the west by Lafayette Street. It lies east of SoHo, south of NoHo, west of the Lower East Side, and north of Little Italy and Chinatown.
The neighborhood was long regarded as part of Little Italy, but has lost its recognizable Italian character in recent decades because of rapidly rising rents. The Feast of San Gennaro, dedicated to Saint Januarius ("pope of Naples"), is held in the neighborhood every year following Labor Day, on Mulberry Street between Houston and Grand Streets. The feast, as recreated on Elizabeth Street between Prince and Houston Streets, was featured in the film The Godfather Part II.
In the second half of the 1990s, the neighborhood saw an influx of yuppies and an explosion of expensive retail boutiques and trendy restaurants and bars. After previous unsuccessful tries to pitch the neighborhood as part of SoHo, real estate promoters and others came up with several different names for consideration of this newly upscale neighborhood. The name that stuck, as documented in an article on May 5, 1996 in the New York Times City Section debating various monikers for the newly trendy area, was Nolita, an abbreviation for North of Little Italy. This name follows the portmanteau pattern started by SoHo (South of Houston Street) and TriBeCa (Triangle Below Canal Street).
The neighborhood includes St. Patrick's Old Cathedral, at the intersection of Mulberry, Mott, and Prince Streets, which opened in 1815 and was rebuilt in 1868 after a fire. The cornerstone was laid on June 8, 1809. This building served as New York City's Roman Catholic cathedral until the new St. Patrick's Cathedral was opened on Fifth Avenue in Midtown in 1879. St. Patrick's Old Cathedral is now a parish church.
Since 2010, a Little Australia has emerged and is growing in Nolita."

The clarity of the video is excellent. The beauty of a non-narrated video is that I feel i'm actually there, since you hear all the natural street sounds. I feel like its me holding the camera.

I absolutely LOVE all your video's, well the ones I have been able to get caught up on. I only came across your channel a couple of months ago, and have binge watched quite a few, while keeping up with new ones. I have always wanted to visit New York, but it isn't looking as if that will ever happen. So instead I get to see it literally through your lens, and for that I Thank you. Awsome work, keep it up!!!! :)

I've gotten into the routine of watching at least a couple of your videos every evening, so will be watching this one later. At any rate, I just wanted to post here and say that in the past few weeks since I discovered your channel, I've watched so many of your videos and have enjoyed them all, learning so much about NYC. You should be congratulated for what you are doing . . . you are providing an ongoing, personalized, in-depth virtual tour of one of the largest and most active and diverse cities in the world and all these videos are being preserved for the future and for anyone who can access them to learn more about NYC, and that's very cool. Honestly, NYC should be paying you for promoting the city and having so much knowledge that you are sharing with thousands of people daily. Keep up the good work! :)

@Runner Girl Yes! I look forward to it each evening, and a few times I've watched several in a row, there's so much good content. I watch in amazement at all the people moving along the streets so confidently . . . I live in Texas and NYC seems VERY intimidating to me! But I'm also amazed at the diversity of places from Manhattan to Brooklyn (don't you love the brownstones?!) and the other boroughs, from the skyscrapers to the quaint little shops and eateries, so cool. That's a big move from So Cal to NYC and quite a cultural change, too, bet you'll make that dream happen! Good luck!! :)

@Runner Girl Hi! You are most welcome and thank you ~ Oh so you know the city already, that's great! I just love learning more about places like this from people who live there or have visited. I love AK's videos from Brooklyn and yes, Brooklyn Heights ~ I'm captivated by not only that architecture but the lovely trees and sidewalks, so charming. I cannot imagine what it all looks like in person, but his videos are the next best thing and yes, they are addicting! I saw him for the first time the other day and that's interesting because it personalizes the videos even more. So nice chatting with you ~ Sending you peaceful good vibes from Texas to California! :)

They're great, of course, but I posted to AK on another vid that I personally prefer the narrations because it adds another dimension and also gives viewers more info about a place they might never have visited and perhaps will never visit. This young man is so knowledgeable about all things NY and that should be shared.

Two questions which probably have no answers: Regarding graffiti, do people walk around with a spray can of paint on them all the time in case they happen to see a blank surface to write on or do they buy a can of spray paint and purposely go looking for blank surfaces to write on? LOL.....and...all the restaurants with their doors open in welcome, how do they keep all the flies coming in away from the food they are preparing?
