To be fair to you, the ‘unplanned’ entry was your undoing.....for me it’s all about gettin’ my noggin in the right place when I get in. I just make sure i’ve got a safe entry/exit point and have my clothes laid out ready for when I get out.....and a flask of coffee.....It always feels like insanity at the time but I just love the feeling afterwards.....keep it up pal.

My father was a sergeant in the Canadian Army 2PPCLI in Korea during the war there. Kapyong survivor. On the way back from a winter time patrol he was the last man across a frozen lake. Unfortunately for him the ice broke & he went into the icy water. After they got him out he quickly stripped off his gear & ran all the way back to their camp with nothing but a wool blanket on & his Enfield. He got frostbite on four toes, but they saved the toes & his family jewels. Two years later I was born, so the jewels still worked.

I live in northeastern Vermont where the lake ice gets pretty thick in the winter. Still, folks drown riding snowmobiles, hiking and ice fishing while alone. mate i've done the dunk in Norway and we had clothes on, it is nerve shockingly cold, no one blames you for squealing like a little girl! ha ha ha!
