I lived in St. Albans for 10 years, and this video almost made me cry, because Nowadays I’m stuck in the United States, though I’ve always remained British and I’m dying to find a way back to the isles, back to my true home. Thank you so much for giving me this taste of home! I remember every street, every part of the cathedral, I even remember market day in the city centre on Wednesdays! Thanks again for this, you have made my day.

OMG... I was literally crying all the way through this video!!😭 I lived in St Albans in the early 70's up to the age of 5... I feel quite homesick. I've been wanting to return for many years, but haven't been able to yet... it was déjà vu all the way for me! I remember well the weekly shopping trips my Mother and I did in the town, a lot of the time I was seeing it all from my pushchair! 😅 There was a Sainsbury's a bit like the Harrods Food Hall, in the sense that you had to ask for food over the counter... the smell of a cheese or fresh fish stall, still reminds me today of that very old style grocery store. It was the last Sainsbury's to be be transformed into a modern supermarket. I was also amazed to see how much like Norwich it is, which is where I live now. You uncovered a mystery for me, as to why I have always felt very at home in Norwich. It all makes sense now, there are a lot of striking similarities. I always thought it was a baby memory of living in London a few years before, but it makes more sense I would remember St Albans more. I think you even walked through the park where I tripped over a tree root and landed on a big stone and broke my arm... first time I understood what real pain was! Apart from that, I had really happy memories of living in that town. Thanks for taking me back! My older brother watches your videos too, I know he'll be thrilled to see this. 🤩 👏 👍

St Albans offers the best of both worlds, being a somewhat sleepy English cathedral town/city. Yet only twenty miles, and twenty or so minutes from central London. Who could ask for more?
