I made myself a walking stick and cane similar to that one last summer with the 'swirling' rings. Not as nice looking as that, but since Oct of 2022, I have had to use the cane many times and I never had any idea that I would. I still cannot walk well, but hope to be able to do so soon so I can get back to my wood projects, too! *Billy Allen ll, F.Book :)

I don’t know about that species, but most species I encounter are a heck of a lot easier to strip the bark with a knife while it’s freshly cut, then dry it.

Definitely, I cut it down and forgot all about it at the back of the shed..it had plenty dust on it..🤣

I think it is from a wild olive tree with a very hard wood...you know all olive tree varieties are grafted on a wild one.
@fishtank505010 ай бұрын
@@VANGELISNISYROS it's definitely from a hollybush I cut it myself 👍

Wow didn't expect that from you, Nice change though. It must have taken you a few hours and those carving burrs don't take prisoners if your not careful 🤣🤣👍.

Thanks Peter, it was a nice wood to carve in the end, not the staff I had in mind but we got something at the end..🤣🤣

I've done the same basic thing but instead of using the dremel I used a wood gouge on one and a pocket knife on the other one.

Would you say a single Dremel burr was enough to carve the whole staff after you removed the yellow tape? Do you remember?
@fishtank5050 Жыл бұрын
Yes a single bit will do the whole piece, then sanding drums to sand with 😁👍
