Walking Sutton High St Again in September 2024

A gorgeous day in old Sutton, those shade trees are really nice. I’ve stood at that bus stop in front of the train station many a time, going back to the early 1950’s as a toddler. There used to be traffic lights at the top of the hill, cars would get backed up on a red light and because engines were small 4-cylinders, you had to use the hand brake to keep from rolling back while engaging the clutch. I’m a bit surprised they allow the clothing racks to encroach onto the high street, street market style, not very becoming of a high street that is otherwise quite nice. Good to see a fresh vegetable market (green grocer). Thanks for the walk.

Wow Sutton looks like paradise compared to Croydon now. Sutton always was a bit nicer
