Having grown up in Southampton in the 60s-70s ... its nice to have a leisurely walk through the village. Your starting point was the Junior High School when I was there ... my homeroom was right up the stairs from the video starting point!

I worked in Southampton throughout a good part of the 90s until 2002. There used to be a Sam Goody that I managed right there on Main Street. I haven’t been back there since 2004. It looks like so much has changed around there since I’ve last been there. I absolutely loved working there in that area. A great memory for me. Great video.

I see more contrasts in cities of developing countries than in NYC (e.g., Mumbai, New Delhi, Nairobi, Egypt, etc).

I agree. Iam from Brooklyn Crown Heights. But every metropolis has the affluent areas and the areas that are middle class or poverty stricken. So it's really like all the majority cities in that aspect.

Obviously a rich place, but seeing it from a European perspective I'm amazed about how tacky the concrete slaps in the sidewalks look. Why is this ? Do Americans like this style. Does it have to do with former maffia influence prohibiting competition in this sector. Is there another reason ?

What's special about the Hamptons 🤔 looks like a majority of towns/cities in mid and upper Michigan and even the capital of Michigan at one time. Looks like they just respected the city and didn't let it get run down. Confused as to all the hype about it is all.
