Walking the River Arun (from Arundel to Littlehampton)

Walking the River Arun from Arundel to Littlehampton is a delightful 6 mile walk along the grassy riverbank that takes a couple of hours. Shown here are the first 4 miles of that walk. The last two miles have been omitted from the video as they were mainly dense bramble paths and urban.

We just did this. The path is pretty well overgrown which, in parts, makes locating the top of the 45 degree river bank edge difficult. We found out when our left legs landed on unsupported grass! The last mile or so of the walk (after the video ends) as it approaches Littlehampton is impassible with brambles and other overgrowth so requires battling through on an unappealing wasteland. A Littlehampton local we met along the way said not many people walk it these days. Terrible shame it has not been properly maintained.

Just did this trail but backwards today, would highly recommend took me and the guys about 7-8 hours but we did stop to take pictures and look at the wildlife, we saw over 20 species of birds, fish, livestock and even a seal! We were very lucky we also got to see a cormorant hunting an eel.

Shame you didn’t show the last bits, the bramble area has some nice spots and the Marina and rope walk are nice. Lovely walk, the Aurn way. Good video

I am thinking of doing this route in reverse .You mention thick bramble when you took this walk in 2020 .Was it passable or did you have to take a detour via local roads. Great video by the way .
