Walking to Universal Studios Orlando from Doubletree & then from CityWalk Garage into Islands (IoA)

This is a Video (filmed Jan'21) with Pictures, a speed up video and a few with me Talking and Giving a Tour. The first few minutes are pics of DoubleTree at the Entrance of Universal Studios Orlando Florida. Then you'll see a Speed Walk of the walk up to the Crosswalk at the corner of Major Blvd & Kirkman Road. DoubleTree sits on the corner which is just down from Universal Blvd. Major Blvd tees into it. {I said International Drive when I was walking but that was a blurb mistake! I-Drive is on the other side of I4.} Another Walking Burb Mistake I made was say Portifino, instead of Sapphire Falls. The walking path behind Margaritaville goes to Royal Pacific and Sapphire Falls. The path on the other side - Universal Studios - goes to Hard Rock and Portifino Resorts. {yes LOTS of On Property options to have a closer walk to the parks, that this one in the video}
DoubleTree and Holiday Inn are absolutely the closest off-site hotels to Universal Orlando. While they both provide “scheduled” shuttle service to the Universal’s transportation hub, as you can see by this video it really isn’t that far to walk. Plus, you control your time and schedule when you walk! No need to coordinate with a bus or really even wait for a Ride Share. Although, I did take a LYFT back just for comparison. It was a 5 minute ride and cost $7.98 + $2= $9.98 total for the small car which holds 3 (sometimes 4 people). So it would for sure be more for a Larger Ride.
So stick around pass the fast walk, where it's just music, and you'll get to my narrative. This was purely done to save you time, in watching this video :)

I would be walking to City Walk super early! I was just there, this weekend. The Universal bus picked me up from Dockside at 5:50am. When we got to the Security Area at 6am, there was already a line forming. This was for a 7am Early Park Admission for Universal Studios. I saw this morning, on a few FB Groups, that the line for Islands of Adventure, was back up all the way over the bridge and to the Coke area at about 8:30am for an 8am opening. GO EARLY! Walking allows that because you control your time ;)

Thank you! I’m glad it helped you. There is a Shuttle to City Walk. You need to sign up for the time slots. Do it EARLY! You can shuttle to VB from City Walk.

@@EscapeRightTravel Amazing thanks! And one last thing, I know you have discounts on the parks because of Universal partner hotel, but do you know how much discount? Also, when you walk from the parking to citywalk, you need to get past security or something in the round bridge, but by walking to citywalk you do not have to pass by the huge crowds that form there right? You have your separate security and access the citywalk quicker am i right? Thanks for all the help!

@@joey8717 there is Security at the end of the path. It is the place for those doing Valet Parking. At the time of that video, that wasn’t happening bc of COVID. It has now resumed, so there will be more people but NOTHING like the main hub of everyone coming into City Walk. As far as discounts, those are NOT for Universal Parks. The wording on the website is misleading. It’s for the Universal OUTLETS, which is an Outlet Mall and it’s those little coupon books. Idk why they have that in there bc it’s wrong. Discounts inside the parks can come from being an Annual Passholder. Like I mentioned previously, feel free to text or email me and I can help you more with your trip. You could be able to stay ON Property for less than you think, depending on when you are going. It’s hard to speak generalities when it comes to rates/money. 😆 The shuttle is correct though. 4 times in the morning and then returns in afternoon. Sign up daily for it.

It’s fine. There is a Pedestrian Crosswalk that goes over the road. You don’t cross the road at regular crosswalks. The fast part of the video shows the ramp up and down to it

When you get to the entrances to both parks how is geting in? Meaning they dont sell tickets there right online on website so do we just scan our tickets and go right in? Or long wait or somthing else. Also if have a kid who is about to be 3 do I need to buy a ticket for her or can she just walk right in with us what's the process to them questioning somthing like that lol

No. It’s safe in that area in general. You’re actually on the edge of their expensive hotels once you cross the bridge from double tree. Now the area near Millenia mall to the east is a different story. Don’t walk around there late at night.

@@kylebrandon2009 yes! It will be charged on your Hotel Bill. There are also packages that can be done with Doubletree that will have your Park Tickets and give you Early Park Admission access. It’s not something you can do on the Hilton or Universal site. However, I can do it through the Travel Agent side of Universal. If that interest you, then text me and I’ll check prices for you. Also with a package, you can pay over time (depending your dates) instead of paying all upfront for your Tickets like when you buy them separate. Also it’s Refundable this way, unlike buying separate 😉 (Sorry for delay, I’m currently in Ocho Rios)

Planning on staying at the Drury inn 8 min away from Universal since they dont charge for parking. Any recommendations when it comes to the park? And cheaper way of doing this?
