Queen St. West from University to Bathurst was a 'bohemian treat' in the early 80s. Places, businesses and people not found outside of downtown Toronto at the time. A place for its time that seemed to provide endless possibilities for free creativity. The gentrification further west on Queen St. began in-earnest in the early 90s which relatively revitalized a former derelict part of lower western Toronto. Did you know there once was a Queen St. Subway built? The tunnel is still there.
