Finland is filled with this kind of places, areas built in the 60's or 70's. The apartment houses were supposed to be only temporary, as they housed thousands of residents moving in from the countryside to the city to work. The thought was to build bigger and better ones once this country is richer. Well...90's recession changed plans and these houses still stand today. Ps. They are often surprisingly large and comfy when you visit inside. The outside looks neglected because it's so old and costs a lot to renovate.

And the build quality of many old suburban buildings is actually often superior to new pricey apartment houses in "better" areas. It's not uncommon to see fresh houses being heavily repaired just a few years after being finished. Also, the floor plans in 1960s made more sense than flats today...

This area isnt actually so bad. Parks and small forests all over. The shopping center is old for sure ( but its planned to rebuild all new). No doubt here sre a lot of immigrants but also ordinary Finns. Its usually quite peacefull after all.

Hakunnila on kyllä oikeasti ( omasta mielestäni) PK seudun mielenkiintoisimpia lähiöitä. Pidän alueen yhteisöllisyydestä, ja asumisalueena pidän alueen puistomaisuudesta. Kaiken kaikkiaan hyvä kokonaisuus. MIeluusti muuttaisin Hakunilaan.

Liikennemelu on aika valtava Kehä kolmosen ja Lahdenväylän puristuksessa. Lähellä on myös jätteenpolttolaitos, joskin enemmän saasteita tulee liikenteestä. Muuten ihan tavallinen asuinalue.

Depends on the area and time. Some places are mostly peaceful, maybe some old school drunks etc. but perfectly fine to live with kids or so. Then there are areas which are avoided for a reason.

Outside Finland, no one knows what Vantaa is. That's why the English translation uses the suburb of Helsinki. For the Finnish title, it says Vantaa. This information is also in the video description. Thanks for your comment and watching.
