Ok, my fia poko moment. In my honest opinion I don't think the color of ur skin had anything to do with anything here. When drinking in a liquor ban area be prepared to have these conversations with law enforcement. At the end of the day cops are normal people who have a job to do. Agreed even though I'm full Samoan I understand these consequences of the law and as always I should obey the law it's not the colour of your skin uso it's because it's against the law that your drinking at a public area or walking around with a bottle of alcohol that is opened at a public area but with all due respect I agree with the uso is saying

@@@grim-keep8729 Ia a'u ā ia, it seems like the uso is just trying to get some clarity around the law of emptying unopened vessels to which both officers did a poor job of explaining. This is a grey area which boils down to discretion. (Cops have discretion here) I personally would have protested emptying an unopened vessel and would have refereed them to the liquor-ban poster under the title 'remember' cops would have to think long and hard on whether or not proving to a Judge that the unopened vessels were going to be consumed in the banned area was worth the hassle or not. (Paperwork and taxpayer dollars/resources) At the end of the day their opinions DO NOT invalidate our rights, and they are governed the law. It's powerful to remember that they are paid by our tax paying dollars, and that they are here to serve us as members of the public/community. It's not enough to just articulate this but to have the understanding to get into a verbal sparing match with them. Manuia le po ia oe le uso.
