If ya'll don't accept trans people, fine, but this video isn't about being forced to date them etc. It's about how trans people should be accepted to have the right to FEEL SAFE. Which a lot of trans people *don't.* Imagine everyday/night walking down the street wondering whether or not you're going to get bashed or mugged simply for your personal identity? That's fucking terrifying.

I understand what many are saying in regards to the glances and seeing how these individuals may be reacting negatively or they are worrying about other people : that ultimately they shouldn't care or worry about this but have you ever considered that for some trans people..... They are at a higher risk of violence and danger. The paranoia from anxiety forms in their minds because its the human brain trying to protect them from harm. They are very aware of the threat they may or may not face because in reality being trans offends alot of people. Alot of people hate trans people. This isn't an opinion it's facts. I agree leave them alone. Let trans people walk around as whatever they want to be. No problem with that at all. Trans genders need to take a page out of their own book and respect our rights to believe in a binary gendered reality! Live and let live.

You choose the behavior you choose the consequences. If a hairy man wants to walk down the street in a dress, then people will give him the side eye. Walk down the street in a clown outfit then tell me I’m wrong. The logic of transgenderism is that we should ignore basic facts cause they may hurt someones feelings. Like the fact that the word gender is a synonym for sex and has been for 100s of years, or the fact that they don’t look like, act like, or actually do anything like women. You are literally judging people right now for thinking this weird delusion is BS making you a hypocrite. If you live in a culture that’s judgement free, then you’ll end up having murderers walking the streets freely. That’s where it leads.

Going after a straight man yea for sure it will not have positive feedback. He is straight. If a bi man approaches them they feel insulted because it’s a bi man and feel invalidated. Why a straight man it’s okay to be invalidated but a trans it’s not okay? They say be your true self, but they don’t want to be their true self, they want to be something else, which is fine, but you can’t force everyone to align with your self perception

I think some of the nonhateful response in the comments is coming from the fact that you took a camera out and filmed people's reactions and then read into them negatively. When you are insecure (in both senses, including not feeling safe) you're more likely to project what you're feeling onto other people. Brandi's interview was much more reasonable. She didn't assume everyone found her unattractive or that they were uncomfortable. Also, in NYC you should expect most people to be walking around with RBF.

When you see a piece of driftwood in Louisiana, it probably is not an alligator, but that does not mean that your gut reaction is any less understandable when you're shaken, thinking you'll get your arm torn off. Trans women get enough comments, derisive stares, and threats of assault to condition them to read looks that *may* be neutral as negative. In addition to that, most trans women know how people react when you look gender conforming, so they'll have practice in knowing when people read them as gender non-conforming. The point of combining the shots of people's looks with the commentary about negative reactions was not to accuse the people in those shots of being transphobic, but to give you an insight into what it's like to be looked at as a trans woman and never knowing, always having these thoughts. Practice just a little bit of empathy and critical thinking.

Or to say that you're happy mutilating your body physically and chemically is a complete lie. HRT is known to cause severe chemical imbalances in the brain and it results in depressions for them years down the line. That's why there's no long term study, because too many un-alive themselves from their mistakes and realize they CAN'T go back and fix it. Listen if you need someone to talk to, I'm here. Try being a trans woman and not passing at all. I started late in life because I am older (64) and being trans and young there was no discussion anywhere. At least where I was. My mom beat me for 13-14 year’s because when I was 3 or 4 (my first memories) is of my mom beating me and telling me I am not a girl. She kicked me out of the house at 16. I thought I was a freak and tried the “male thing”, I just wound up trying to commit suicide multiple times. I am 64 not and although I am transitioning now at times I still feel like a freak as everyone knows the gender I was born into and that according to them I must be a freak. It’s better now with more knowledge out there, but it can still be devastating I am sure. Just be you and not what society says you are.

I think the director of the film is just using the stares to artistically represent the paranoia trans people feel when being stared at. The slowness of the camera and the focus of the shot being centered in on the stare with the background blurred really drives the point home that they were looking. I did not get from this that the director was trying to make any opinion of the people starring and implying that they are thinking negative thoughts against the people they are starring at. What I got from this is that regardless of what these people were thinking that these trans people have to process this on a daily basis and wonder what other people are thinking about them while they're being starred at, even if it's just to look. I think this is mainly to emphasis the uncomfortableness of it all. I've had to speak in front of an audience of 200 people before. It's not the most comfortable feeling in the world.

Some of the stares might be bigotry, or something, sure. But, I believe a lot of that is just paranoia... for good reason in this point in time, but paranoia none the less. I think the bulk of it is more likely people giving the stink-eye for completely unrelated shit, like someone's outfit, getting within their personal bubble, or simply looking at them. People are getting more and more hands off, and I doubt cities are any better. Also, attraction comes hand in hand with stares.

A relationship between a son and the father is an important bond that passes down morals and values. And with a mother, children learn how to be compassionate and empathetic. It prevents people from going overboard into a self-indulgent down spiral of dopamine rushes. Without traditional values or morals, people submit themselves to acts of pleasure of which they create their own values in order to be contempt with doing those actions. Instead of actively trying to better themselves, it's easier to be contemptuous with being sick and you can't do anything to change it. The idea you should accept everyone for who they want to be has unleashed ideological diseases that corrupt minds into a weakness. There are two types of people who profit from spreading diseases. People in power such as government, and big corporations, who know it's easier to control weak-minded citizens, and the mentally ill who seek nothing but gratification from a community of like-minded degenerates, the corrupted youth. The powerful people spread it by advertising it on their logos, their commercials, and on social media. The powerful people gain the high ground out of their competitors with their newfound “correct morality “ that the mob is so easily inclined to love. The weak spread it in order to fulfill a meaningless purpose of being kind with “acceptance”. It does nothing to empower or to encourage people to improve themselves. They invent spectrums and transgenderism in order to explain the new found mental problems they acquired from a poor family structure. Of which they seek newer more complicated identifiers to find their place in society. They require more gratification, like it’s a drug. It's easier to create less intricated, easier to understand, and “morally correct” reasons on a foundation of “acceptance” than to explain and maintain traditional ones that have been passed down for generations. For example “love is love” is a simple and widely accepted term as “be with who you want to be with”, but where is the limit? Can people love animals? Children? How can this “love” not be a pervasive lust for a relationship from a desperate mentally ill human being? As time goes on, values without morals corrupt the youth as there are no standards. The importance of historical figures and their lessons will in time be removed due to the disease wanting to erase the past so as to completely eradicate any possibility of a philosophical antidote arising. The fewer restrictions the disease has to go through, the more it can multiply until it destroys society. And the only ones left to profit are the people pulling the strings from positions of government that were put there by people thinking they were doing the right thing, but for all the wrong reasons..

It's human nature for our eyes to be drawn to things that stand out, that are different from our expectations. When most people see a male body with a female presentation, their brain experiences a mismatch and is startled, trying to evaluate the situation and make sure it's safe. As social and tribal creatures, humans are well-evolved to sniff out people who are pretending to be something they are not, similar to the uncanny valley. This process can result either in the brain deciding that there is no threat and letting it's guard down, or it can heighten feelings of fear, disgust, and anger to motivate you to move away from the undesired stimulus. From the outside, if you're insecure, this unconcious surprise-deciding process looks a lot like a death stare.

Never feel ashamed when people don't know you are trans and hit on you. You don't have to disclose that information if you don't want to. Anyone who feels that you have to reveal you are trans to a person thinks that there is something inherently "homosexual" or "gay" being with a trans person. What draws you to a trans person is not the qualities of them being the same gender as you. It was the qualities of the opposite gender that drew you to them. So, if you think you are "gay" or "being tricked" because you are interacting with a trans person, you need to pause and think what drew you to that person? Was it the desire of being with the same gender or the opposite gender? If the answer was looking for the opposite gender, welcome to being just your regular straight self.

Being self conscious about your own identity brings on a deep dread and paranoia that people are staring at you, judging you, that they can somehow tell you're trans by a momentary glance on the street, and you end up fearing strangers. The truth is, especially in NYC, no one is actually looking at YOU or giving any consideration at all to YOU. They are looking at everyone and everything but at nothing at the same time. If you make eye contact, they will too, but it means nothing. It's all in your head. There are so many androgynous looking people in a city. It is not novel or special. No one is actually staring at you. This is your own inner fear and insecurity that you need to overcome.

These women are amazing and gorgeous. As a transgender guy, hearing their stories made me very emotional and upset at the state of the world. I can relate to their stories as well, but in some ways more than others. I try to walk very fast so people don’t get a good look at me, and even though I’m closeted and pre-T, I very desperately want to look male. So I think to myself: if I just don’t speak, look them in the eyes, or show my appearance, they might think I’m a guy. And when people hear my high pitched voice, they have a lot of questions, from “are you a boy or girl?” to telling me I am a girl, to treating me like an “SJW” aggressive lesbian even though I don’t mention anything about my political views or sexuality. If I were to wish anything, it would be that people stop gendering and assuming things about me based on my appearance. Not a single person who has made assumptions about my appearance has clarified with me if they were right, they just assume because they’re cishet that they’re correct. When I’m in public I get this anxiety a lot, which is why I don’t go out much (I live in a very conservative country too), but people who see you on a regular basis and think they know me still think they have the right to be subtly transphobic. It frustrates me to no end, especially because their opinions on lgbtq people are negative and unchangeable, and of course I’m the victim because of that. If transphobes could live one day as a transgender person and experience the struggles we do, they would change their minds, but until then…

I am not a transgender but from my childhood, I still question things about inequality and injustice, including the patriarchy brainwashing and hypocrisy of our society. Quite late, because only few years ago I decided to finally express who I really am. In my heart, I always was a gender-bender, who adores feminine and androgynous look. Expressing yourself with fashion is such a powerful and tribal thing (I fell in love with Derek's look completely!). Great thing is that my partner supports me fully, and that's really powerful. But streets are different, and as long as I don't want anyone around me to feel uncomfortable and I am definitely afraid of any assaults, in the end I am the one who's feeling uncomfortable and just not in the right place. I am pushing it forward, including my dull and uniformed working place. If you think about it, it's just few attributes here and there, all on your skin, not someone's else, attached to your body, not someone's else. It's you who have the full autonomy, to think the way you think, to feel the way you feel and to perceive the world the way you do. No one should have a doubt those beautiful human beings are really brave, and deserve a lot of respect.

The men who react badly or violently after discovering that you are trans or after being slighted for talking to a transwoman by a heterosexual man or woman are clearly just not confident in having their sexuality questioned. And to be honest most men aren't confident in this way. I'm pretty open and liberal and would never react badly, but I might want to have the last word where I let it be known that I'm heterosexual, and I imagine this is something that is deep-seated within almost all men. Some of the men who react badly may also be sexually interested in transwomen but not want to admit this to the world.

It kills me to see all these negative comments on this video. Transgender people have valid reasons to be paranoid when walking out in public. Transgender women were being killed because they’re trans. They get rude stares just because they look/are different from ‘societal norm’. I personally have experienced this, and I’m only 14. I get clear, disgusted stares from strangers who drive past me while I wait for the bus just because I wear my preferred clothing. @@gummy5862 She said "Try being a cis woman", That is fully implying that her problem is worse, when in reality it isn't. Her problem fucking sucks but it is not what it is like to be trans, imagine that but every other day, and all trans people were considered "cis" at one point or another and trans women still face the hardships that most cis women do, so we understand the buffoonery that women endure everyday because of ignorant bastards. We are all women, but not all of us are Trans women, baseline is being cis is much easier to endure than being tans, trust and believe and again, go watch Pose, Paris is Burning, or 1968's The Queen and learn something about the trans community, please.

That's how you know a particular situation is demonic. When you have no peace about it. The entire time i thought these ppl loved themselves and really they hate themselves and are sad(ie the negative self thoughts he mentioned). I hate Satan and his strongholds, the confusion it creates😞 he's so deceiving and half the world doesn't believe in him. The same demons that have them living this way are the same demons who cause ppl to attack them. Satan has no mercy.

I think that trans people look so amazing that you just want to look at them all the time and they usually have a very feminine and nice way to dress. Nowadays many women are not confident and have body issues and when we see how trans people are dressing themselves and celebrate their look, its like getting motivated to love our femininity :)

People might look a little longer or even stare because they've never seen it before, but it doesn't mean they are hating. I am a queeny gay guy and I get looks all the time, but most of the time it's just obliviousness or even curiosity. Sometimes it definitely is also working-class guys making fun of you with each other, but that's literally city life. It is their right to make fun of you if they want. So in summary, I do think some of the stuff in this video is legit, but a lot of this is also projection.

This video is not just speaking on how trans people get looks in the street - it's not something you can always brush off because "that's city life" - the video is speaking on the fact that these people are sometimes risking their safety by simply walking down the street. Trans people should be able to be in a public space without fearing for their life.
