We actually use desert rats to describe those who grew up in the desert areas here in Arizona. It's used fondly. Love when people take an insult and it gets turned around to be a positive thing. Whenever I meet someone, and they're okay with the heat, they never say native, they say we'll I'm a desert rat, even older people. Love knowing where that came from.

But he spent a lot of his life in France. Though he was born in Spain Malaga.
