Thank you Tony for this beautiful documentary about a country that I genuinely like and that is Australia! I like New Zealand too! I think they are both beautiful and charming countries that I would love to visit one day! I think there were many good things from England, Britain and America of course that were technologic, material and spiritual! I think their culture is rich, beautiful and charming and stands for many good premises and values! I think they are people totally worthy of preservation! Again, thank you Tony for your wit and insight! Cheers!

Roman concrete is not as strong as modern concrete. You could never build a tall modern building with Roman concrete. This is actually why it lasts longer as it has some flexibility and porosity.

Interestingly, having been born in Australia to U.S. citizens and leaving at the age of 5 I have no more advantage applying for citizenship than anyone else as far as I know. My sis renewed her Aus citizenship at 18. I never bothered. By Australian law I have no right to immigrate back to Aus without going through the same process as everyone else, even having been born there. Aus definitely has some strict immigration laws.

In my childhood in the 1970s we were taught Australian history in the most boring, Anglo-centric way imaginable. As a result we switched off. If we had had teachers like Tony we would have had a real appreciation of our own national history and prehistory.

What isnt mentioned is that John Horrocks commissioned a church in his adopted town of Penwortham in the Clare valley and became its graveyards first internee! His Camel was shot in the paddock below the church and was buried with a tree on top, which can still be seen today.

Wow, this was such a full series! The history of the Olympic games and their revival history also is incredible! I never knew that Englishman was involved, right? Remarkable! I am sorry about your family history, Tony! But you also noted that things improved and I think so too, they improved in an unprecedented way in other parts of the world as well! Carrying a tray for the boys was so kind, Tony lol… Sir Tony, you are an awesome presenter! You are energetic, witty, sharp and funny! The death of Milo, the great athlete was both funny and tragic as well as the story of the “handkerchief thief”! It sounded funny but I also think the man you mentioned got punished very severely as well! That Milo dude might have been very strong but he probably did not have it all right in his head lol… Sir Tony, your work is never boring and it is actually always interesting! What a privilege! Cheers!

Wow, London is such a historic and iconic city! Edison and Swan were just remarkable, they put the roots for internet, computer and their culmination - a portable personal computer that is iPhone! My eternal gratitude towards them! May they rest in peace! I just think that Australia and New Zealand despite the sins of their past are such beautiful, historic and charming countries who were also pioneers and achieved so much in such a short amount of time! I would love to visit both one day if I ever get the opportunity! Thanks Tony for great work and keep it up! Cheers!

I gave this thumbs down for one reason, those annoying unwanted intrusive ads invading my privacy and disrupting the continuity of the video. Adds are counterproductive because I purposefully will avoid any products that are being advertised even if I want something I certainly will not purchase one of those ads rammed down my throat disrupting my viewing. I will avoid these corporations like the plague, because they are parasites, and they pay KZbin to disrupt people which I think is pathetic. If I want something I will buy it not when it's rammed down my throat,

pity that was mostly crap and incorrect. the abbey at cefalu was originally a farmhouse. not a church. he died in hastings not cornwall and he was living alone in a boarding house. if your going to cash in on his reputation at least get your facts straight.

Hellfire clubs of the 1700s. The Hellfire Club is a term for several exclusive clubs for the upper class in 18th century Great Britain and Ireland. The clubs were known for their ceremonial drinking, dining, gambling, and carousing, and were associated with devil worship, blasphemy, and black magic. The clubs were a satirical take on the popular gentleman clubs of the time, and their motto was "Do what thou wilt"

The real failure of sealion, happened when the RN sank the kriegsmarine off norway. Also if sealion was successful, would germany have the manpower to invade Russia? If britain surrunded would the commonwealth have followed suit? Would the Bismark sail into sydney or toronto unchallanged?

With a hot air balloon, they might have survived. Hot air can easily be replenished during the journey no matter how much the balloon leaks, and would also have reduced the probability of snow and ice buildup on top of it. Sadly, they used hydrogen gas instead, which they had a finite amount of once they took off.
