Excellent video as usual Dave... Sadly the Falcon is no more, well at least not as a pub... so sadly only one pub now. I have walked that path from the village across the fields and into Hook, where I live.. Great spot to fly my drone... There was once a village shop close to the village pond, which we would cycle to from Hound Green in Mattingley. The fishing lakes were abandoned some time ago as far as I recall. Some fantastic countryside in this area, most of which I have walked many times. As kid, teenager, you could walk almost everywhere... You should walk down that road past the Old Fox, finally coming to Hartley Mill, where you can cross the river, and walk along the River Loddon. Anyway, great to see another local area on your list of videos....can't wait for the summer to return.

It looked like a nice shady walk with not too much ascent. Shame about the lack of refreshment opportunities along the way but the village hall is an awesome piece of architecture. Thank you for taking us along with you and Logan.

Thanks Jean. Yes, a fairly flat route and the shade in the woods was welcome on what was a fairly warm day.

The only word I can think to describe that is - delightful! How lovely was that! That walk would suit me very nicely. Sadly, being in Australia, I cannot do it, but thanks so very much for letting us come along with you. Absolutely loved it!

Hello Dave. Such a lovely area and on a beautiful day. I fear you must have almost run out of those warm sunny days. The weather hasn't been very good since the beginning of October. But I daresay you will still manage to find the odd one or two for you and Logan to enjoy.

Lovely walk Dave. thanks for producing it. I'll watch it several times this coming week to chill out with... Those edges of the field were nice and spacious.. But do you by any chance know if farmers are obliged to give a space of a few feet around the edges of their fields from where the fence is to where they start to plow the soil ? I wasn't sure if it's an old rule ... I know you're on official footpaths where you were walking so there would be a gap there. I figured you would be the one to know such a question anyway.
@DaveFord Жыл бұрын
Thank you David. I know that if there is a public right of way on the perimeter of a field then the land owner has to ensure that it is not obstructed & kept clear. I believe that there are some regulations & guidance regarding field margins -especially if the land is part of an Agri environmental scheme (eg HLS) - and, from what I read from time to time, they seem to change regularly.
@davidkeel Жыл бұрын
@@DaveFord Thanks for that info Dave.. Some farmers are really good. I don't think some others like the public on their land. I just read an interesting article in farmers weekly on line after I messaged you.. It said if crops aren't growing the public can walk across a field. Not sure if that was in Scotland though Lol. I'd better check it out ... thanks for the reply Dave.
