Good video. BTW, the word "topsides" as relates to boats is: "The topsides on a boat, ship, watercraft, or floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel, is that part of the hull between the waterline and the deck. It includes the visible parts of the bow, stern, sheer, and, if present, tumblehome." It is not the deck area.

I use it as a general term, as is the nomenclature of where I grew up… on the water, on boats, in the Chesapeake Bay. But I appreciate your attention to detail!

I mention it as it is so confusing that the "top" is really the "side". I always say to newcomers that the hardest thing about leaning to sail is learning the language. @@brokerwiththebeard

Very True! and each region has different uses or definitions for the same word... I guess sailing will always keep us learning and expanding our vocabulary as well as our horizons. I hope you are enjoying the channel!@@roncanizares9966

Great e walk thru - is this boat still on the market? Do you know of and Mason 44s with the Pullman berth forward on the market?

Does it have an engine? Not mentioned, as far as I could tell.

Absolutely! It’s a Yanmar 56 hp with 3800 hours. Well maintained… feel free to reach out to me.

I think sellers should get surveys done then put the boat out for sale - with the current survey. All this cup holder showing is BS

Are you "brokers" out of your minds?? 30+ year old boat, 162k?? Really?? No way I'd pay that money for that old boat unless it had gold toilets I could sell. The sailboat market is crashing folks... Almost all listing on yachtworld show "price reduction' Don't buy any boat..wait 6 months and this boat, like ghe others, will be 30% less. It's happening.

OR… It could be several variables that adjust the price “higher” than you’d pay. Likewise with the amount of price reduction you see online… it couldn’t possibly be the time of year when many reduced prices to entice buyers EVERY YEAR. But I’m just a “broker”. What do I know…

@@brokerwiththebeard , Ty for the reply, and yes much of what you say is true, with that being said... I also understand that the "Broker" is not responsible for cost of the boats storage, maintenance nor monthly dock fees...so in reality you can list it at a ridiculous price, and let it set for months unsold, while the owner suffers with all those cost....wishing on a pipe dream payout. We all know the 2 best days of boat ownership....the day you buy it, and the day you sell it.

As a broker, why would I want to have a boat sit? We get paid when the boat sells, not when it sits. I only know how I do business… but I never set the price. I consult with my seller, analyze the market, compare comps, and evaluate carrying costs. I do this multiple times during the listings “active period”. But that’s just me. Jeff, the listing broker on this one, works the same way.

@@brokerwiththebeard , I guess I'm just sour on 'Brokers' because of a bad apple, Due to me finding out much later that that particular broker had received many offers, some of which I would have accepted, but he never told me about because he wanted a higher price to get a bigger cut. In the mean time I still lost $$ due to paying all those previously mentioned fees, and wasting my time which I'll never get back... Yeah you seem like a straight up guy, so in that case I bid you Fair Winds...

I am sorry that you had that experience... I am looking to change the game by doing things in the most professional way possible. I am happy to help in anyway should you find yourself in a situation that warrants it.
