Not sure about that one, I mean it looked nice but again just empty. I really would love to know how busy it gets from September onwards though. I am guessing it is still going to be pretty dead. Maybe it is also to do with alcohol because its banned, that might also be a factor. But do they stop you from bringing your own with you? would they confiscate it? Also you made a slight error when you said 1 night. You stayed for 2 nights lol - Also that shower was to small :D still waiting for you to find one that you can fit 600 people in haha

Im lucky enough to live in Doha...left UK for work. Let me just explain that because the summer months of June to August are so hot, everyone uses that time to travel overseas...kind of how UK peeps escape the winter weather for sun. Banana Island is busy all year round at the weekends though. It's a real treat for us working expats. Weather is perfect from November to March.

@@hatchling88 You're being silly. That temperature would be the hottest day of the year for some places in England. It would be a very rare temperature in some places. It's all relative. The same person might be fine after four weeks (acclimatised) or not - health issues. Everyone is different. Just like you might struggle in Arizona at 115F whereas someone who lives there would be fine. For example, 68F is a hot day in parts of England, things are very different to Florida. It shouldn't be difficult to understand that our climates are massively different and that affects how people feel.

Tim, the tele in the toilet is for emergencies. If you have ever had sunstroke or shock, nausea hits - you run to the loo . . . maybe you need assistance; there's the tele. Super nice to have! I would use the microwave to heat any extras I brought back from dinner - or to heat breakfast that arrives cold . . . I believe your dinner cheese was a burrata - an Italian treasure of mozzarella surrounding cream - highly prized if eaten the day created. Veeeery Italian.

A friend of mine who got married stayed at one of these at Maldives in South Asia. That one seemed really nice. You had the chance to swim with dolphins and the water near the beaches glowed at night when you walked through the shallow end of the beach - natural flora that glows during water movement. The whole area won a 2023 World Travel Award for best resort. Yes the paint does wear off from the ocean and sun which can be repaired during off season. Still a nice place where you were at.

Hey Tim, the reason some of those buttons don't work or do anything is probably because in other locations like other villas not over the water that are on the actual Island might have those features and they just utilize the same control panel throughout the resort since its probably cheaper in the long run instead of having to have multiple different custom control panels. Thats just my thought on that.

I often think the same about places like Dubai, Doha, Abu Dhabi etc. They're devoid of any real personality or character, they throw ungodly amounts of money at things and think it's attractive when really, that beauty is only skin deep. Look behind the scenes and you see just how ugly things really are.

The positives tend to be safety, service levels and guaranteed sun... each to their own on what you value in your holidays! The last raffles one was so much better than this to me... but I'm sure some people would love being on a small island!

I tend to agree, seems all very smoke and mirrors to me! But always an entertaining video with Tim eh?

Great video as always. I don't know there is just something about this resort that doesn't feel cohesive and the public spaces didn't really look that luxurious. The bed situation and the outdoor loungers alone would freak me out. I couldn't afford to stay there anyway so thank you for sharing another fun video with us!

My mother is from Iran and my father is from UK, but the only place in the ME that I would want to go is Iran (not right now, though lol). I do enjoy watching these videos of fancy places that have sprung up in the past relatively few years in the ME, and appreciate that travel channels take me to them.

I think you need to compare with the Maldives.. they do the over water villas better (not so impersonal) & you can get into the sea 😉🌴

a bit of WD40 spray would fix that door within seconds, another option if WD40 spray wasnt available near the hotel is get something heavy to stop the door from being able to move while u sleep

Hi Tim! The tagging on the bed is for the 'Mattress Rotation'. Hotels, Housekeeping department in particular rotates the bed quarterly thats why there are months indicated on them. Its to retain the quality of the spring and I could say its overall quality. Its also one thing Housekeeping do to check on the bed bugs. I hope this helps!

A no slcohil island resort no way. Now i an sounding like an alcoholic. Yeah ok but those villas i would be afraid of fallung in the sea. They badly need refurbishing.that door would have done me head in but the pool looked lovely Thanks once again Tim keep up good work ❤❤❤
