I've been following your channel for a few years now Tim and I can honestly say out of everywhere you have stayed, this is the one place I have liked the least. Massively overpriced for what you get, the room mostly looked cheap and industrial, and the TVs and hot tub not working just gives the impression that the owner doesn't really care. I'm not familiar with Amsterdam but getting started on by some bloke while you were sat in a restaurant minding your own business isn't a great advertisement for the area where this hotel is either. I would honestly take the Canary Wharf Britannia hotel over this any day of the week.

Thank you so much for this video, Tim! I have been living close to NDSM for over 17 years, so I know this crane very well (from the outside ofcourse) and ever since it has been turned into a hotel I have been wondering what it looks like on the inside. Plus I love to see cities from above, especially my own city! The area looks creepier than it is though. Fun fact: during King's Day the whole of the NDSM is one big festival area with the crane right in the middle of it. I have been dancing right underneath it.

This one made me extremely nervous and apprehensive. Staying in a swaying crane; nobody else around; sketchy neighborhood and getting harassed in a restaurant? Why was the guy touching you? Was he drunk or mad that you were on your phone? None of the staff at the restaurant did anything to assist you? And at that outrageous price, I would expect someone there 24/7 as well as the TVs to work. As I said, I normally love watching your videos but with all of those issues, I’m glad you only stayed 1 night and very glad Gabby wasn’t there. This place is known for throwing raves and music festivals, hence the isolation. No, it is not safe. There is a small bar area where the spiral staircase ascends. This 'balcony' is not closed in and a man was killed after falling over the edge back in 2018 during one of their parties. Hearing the creeks of the crane, that clearly isn't upkept, I would not be surprised if it started to simply rust away, especially being next to the salt water. At the base of the crane hotel was an area where they held events like food festivals (every size of stroopwaffle). The free ferry into the city centre is nearby and slightly further on is the boat hotel (bit like a huge youth hostel in a boat). There was a bar nearby where I remember drinking beer and watching an Australian reggae band (this seemed like a very Amsterdam kind of thing to do). Looking forward to the video.

I really like that quilt pattern on the little chair, Tim. I found it cozy looking. 🙂

We had an old crane like this in the 90's on the riverbank of the rhine in cologne when i was a child and we always climbed on it. the police often came to get us down there. 😁

I'm not sure fish and wild boar are strictly vegan food!

It is not vegan, it is avoiding bio industry, animals kept in horrible circumstances. Wild boar and wild fish live free.

Barry is correct, quirkiness certainly makes this one very unique! Excited as always both by the Patreon preview and the big unveiled adventure here on KZbin! As always, Great job, Tim!

Wow! I was not expecting that price! Going through those first doors gave me hostel vibes. Glad you survived the night!

Fascinating video, but wow just watching it made me nervous at every turn. And those elevators well that’d be a dealbreaker, I just couldn’t. Sorry about the belligerent person/people you encountered 😮 Years ago I visited Amsterdam with my husband, little son and pregnant with my daughter and we had a great visit. Thanks for taking us on your adventure!

you should turn round and go back down those stairs.. so you did it correctly. Love how that place is just pure Amsterdam!

Hi , great video , just stayed at one of the sea front chalets at Corton Coastal Village after seeing your video and had a great time , I live about 40km from there and never even knew the place existed so thankyou for enlightening me ! . Love your videos .

omg I couldn't even finish watching this, it was freaking me out every time you went in and out of the elevator. I was so, shall we say 'intrigued' by the decor that I actually Googled to see who the heck owned this thing. Absolutely eccentric decor.

WHY did that guy want to attack you??? Crazy.
@vickyhesson572010 ай бұрын
Could be for any reason. Some people don’t like English or maybe because Tim was blogging and this guy has something to hide. Not a place I’d go to…

Perhaps someone was a criminal and was being paranoid about being filmed? Maybe thought he was undercover police or something
@JordanIdk10 ай бұрын
@@littlemy1773 I don't think you'd go poking and harassing someone you think is an undercover cop, you'd be locking yourself up at that point.

Another great review, thanks for sharing the experience. For 1200 euro's I can eat like a king and drive around Italy with my motorcycle for 2 weeks, think it's a bit too much, but as you pointed out, the owner should see a return on investment and if you only have 3 rooms to rent out... Take care!
@stevecoinitin752110 ай бұрын
Yeah, I think I'd give it a miss! I really don't like heights, although I did have to climb vertical ladders on tower cranes higher than that one, just to take site photos! The area around there was a bit grim. The crane room and outside was so oddball! I could understand £300 a night, but never £1250! I loved the bed bedding though....I want some!

See THIS is why i love yotube so much, we get to see these crazy Hotels reviewed by people. This is so crazy, it wasn't even a bad room either. The price was outrageous and even gun to my head you'd never get me in those elevators, but this one was so much fun! You definitely have to bring your food before tho cos going up and down more then once is simply crazy lol.

That's a unique hotel! I've never heard a hotel crane before. The view up there is gorgeous and you can even witness both sunset and sunrise in one spot. Btw, that guy who attacked you must be crazy and drunk. Must be out of his mind. Crazy to know that they don't have any security to settle such mess
